Rocketing towards Earth from the farthest regions of the galaxy comes Moon Boot Lover: invigorating
and awe-inspiring, and reminiscent of the comic storylines that spin fantastical super heroes. The name
bears the imagination of their leader, the musical mad genius Peter Prince, who delivers an exciting
and unpredictable musical experience that ignites everyone in the room. Unparalleled by anything on
this planet, the band has once again touched down to continue its mission of bringing their 'Rock-ET
Soul' - an electrifying blend of the enchantment of Al Green, the guitar wizardry of Jimi Hendrix, the
spell-binding songwriting of Jim Croce and the rock grandeur of Led Zeppelin - to music lovers
everywhere. Those who have been witness to Moon Boot Lover sightings know they are a show not to
miss!
Since Moon Boot Lover's inception, with Peter Prince as its constant commander and front man, vocalist,
guitarist and songwriter at the helm, the ship has been manned by an all-star crew that has included
such notable talents as Alan and Neal Evans of Soulive, drummer Andy Herrick, from Assembly of Dust,
bassists Jon Hawes (formerly of Percy Hill), Nate Edgar (from John Brown's Body) and Owen Yost
(Broadway productions such as "Movin' Out" and "Aida"). The current missions feature Peter Prince,
along with drummer Mike "Slam" Dunkle, guitarist Johnny Trama (from the Rockett Band and Jiggle the
Handle) with bassist Jeremiah Hosea (James Blood Ulmer, Gigi and Earthdriver).
Having toured the United States many times over the last dozen years, sharing the stage with such
diverse musical talents as Derek Trucks Band, Dave Mathews-collaborator Tim Reynolds, moe.,
longtime Frank Zappa vocalist/guitarist Ike Willis, Keller Williams, Umphrey's Mcee and Maceo Parker
to name a few, has helped Peter Prince and Moon Boot Lover develop a large fan base. They continually
draw crowds of new fans through heavy touring as well as their appearances at such large-scale festivals
as the Gathering of the Vibes, moe.down, the Berkshire Mountain Music Festival, the Wormtown Music
Festival, Strangefolk's Garden of Eden festival, and through the Home Grown Music Network, which
recently celebrated its tenth anniversary with a weekend of performances in Raleigh, NC that spotlighted
a solo acoustic Peter Prince set. Both Peter Prince and Moon Boot Lover have also appeared to benefit
others in need; most recently at a Tsunami relief concert held in upstate New York last year.
After spending two years fronting Peter Prince & The Trama Unit, a Muscle Shoals-influenced project
that featured members of the Benevento/Russo Duo, Deep Banana Blackout, Jiggle the Handle, Schleigho,
and Ron Levys Wild Kingdom, Peter Prince resumes the mission he first piloted back in 1993, and at the
same time is preparing the release his self-titled debut solo album. Peter Prince is also currently at work
finalizing a Peter Prince/Johnny Trama collaborative effort, while formulating plans for the release of
not only a fifth edition of the Moon Boot Lover saga, but the release of the much-anticipated third
edition of the Moon Boot Lover saga, an album entitled Catskill Martian Dogs, which features the trio of
Peter Prince with Soulives Alan and Neal Evans.
Peter Prince represents rock and roll theatrics at its best his songs bristle with raw emotion, romance,
deep-hearted soul, and his trademark sense of humor while projecting a wild and erotic raw sensation of
music at its essence. Peter Prince's distinctive songwriting voice, mixed with his onstage antics and
the unbridled energy with which the band plays, makes Moon Boot Lover an experience that can only be
described as out of this world!
