FROM THE STREETS TO THE CLUBS TO THE TV SCREEN.......
Kaye styles , born in Ghana on November 8th 1981 as Kwasi Gyasi , immigrated with his parents from West Africa to Belgium Europe at the age of 5.
It was the start of a difficult time and journey for this little child .
His parents got deported from Belgium and Kaye had to live in hiding for 3 years with a Belgian couple without getting official papers .
Not only his color was different , also the way of living in Europe wasn't easy for a young African child .
It was positive attitude combined with his passion for music that kept young Kwasi going , music was his way of escaping the world , his way of communicating and reaching other people .
In his teens Kaye (his friends called him 'K' short for Kwasi ) started to go out to parties and clubs and noticed that some dj's performed with a mc , crowdentertainer besides them.
Kaye saw it wasn't only the music who got the party started , also the mc contributed his share and people were responding to what he was doing . Then and there he realised that what the mc was doing , he also wanted to try .
Kaye combined mc'ing , rapping , and singing with his silk voice and people couldn't believe what they were hearing , was it really that young man doing all this besides the dj ?
Most of them thought it was a record spinnin' .....
People who visited clubs where Kaye was performing started asking him how it was possible that he was combining different kind of 'STYLES' while giving it his own unique touch .
Kaye Styles reputation started to build quickly and strongly in the underground scene .....
After performing at the club of a friend ( he would become Kaye's personal manager ) Kaye started to realise that he could become more than a mc , that he could achieve more when bringing his own written and composed songs .
At the age of 22 Kaye recorded his first demo song 'Crazy' .
The first record company ( Cnr/Mostiko Records ) a major record label in Europe Kaye and his manager had a meeting with , immediately recognized Kaye's talent and offered him a 5 album deal .
Kaye started recording 'his' own songs now with professional producers and engineers .
Only 3 months later , the summer of 2004 , Kaye flew to Los Angeles to shoot his first ever video for his single 'Gimme the mic'.
Gimme the mic became a top 20 Belgian European Billboard hit and people wanted to hear more from this new artist .
Kaye's first album 'True definition of Styles' saw the light in October 2004 .
The record company released 2 other singles of the True definition of Styles album and they both reached the top 50 billboard .
Kaye styles started touring Belgium , Holland , Germany , France and Morocco , reaching and touching fans with his music in places he never dreamed of getting to when he was young .
He got nominated for the 1st time on the MTV Belgian music awards for best R&B 2004 .
In January 2005 Kaye Styles made his 1st song for his 2nd album , a song called ' Profile' and after performing it live at the Belgian Eurovision Contest in front of a million TV viewers everybody knew that 'Profile' would become a massive hit .
'Profile' single sales went thru the roof and it entered the billboard charts at N 3 and stayed there for 10 weeks .
Mai 2005 Kaye Styles released his 2nd album ' It iz what it iz' and it contained the singles 'Profile', 'Maria Bonita' and 'Safe Sex' , a song he made to make young people aware of Aids ( Kaye was the mentor for the South African Campaign against Aids ) .
Maria Bonita and Safe Sex also became top 20 billboard hits.
He got nominated for the 2nd time on the MTV Belgian music awards , Best Breakthrough artist 2005 .
Still the best was yet to come .
In the beginning of 2006 Kaye's manager received a phone call from the U.S mediagiant Fox asking if Kaye Styles would be interested in doing the soundtrack for the PRISON BREAK series in Belgium Europe , series that was at the time a massive hit in the States .
Kaye Styles accepted and made 'Prison Break Anthem' .....
Prison Break anthem entered the sales charts at n 40 , jumped to 11 and peaked at n 3 ,it staid in the top 10 for 14 weeks and became the 2nd biggest airplay hit in Belgium in the year 2006.
It also reached top 10 spots in Russia (n 3) , Ukraine (N 3) and Poland (n 10)
Kaye Styles recorded his 3rd album 'Main Event' and the following singles 'Hold me now' ( n 7 ), 'Don't Cry ( n 7 ) all became top 10 songs .
He got nominated the 3 rd time on a row at MTV Belgian music awards ( best R&B , best video , best national artist 2006 ) .
The last single Kaye Styles released for the Main Event album was 'Cheat on you' , also this song reached the top 20 billboard charts .
After touring all of Europe in the beginning of 2007 , Kaye Styles and his management decided that the U.S , Canada and the Caribbean countries should be the new musical adventure they should aim for .
Kaye Styles management purchased Kaye's contract from Cnr Records and they start their own Company 'On Lock Entertainment' .
September 2007 , Kaye Styles is working hard to prepare his U.S debut album called 'First Born' .
It will have the participation of some of the biggest artists and producers in R&B and Hip Hop today .
First Born is set to be released in April 2008 together with the release of the new single Shawty ft Tariq L and Akon ....
