About Me

MyGen Profile Generator
The Dodgy heyday was at the end of 1990s gaining the band much public attention for a band persona of 3 cheeky and fun-loving musical clowns with a happy go lucky nature. For ex-punk Nigel Clark, it wasnt a particularly accurate persona and increasingly a persona that didnt sit comfortably with his quieter nature. From Dodgy and the tabloid friendly exploits at the peak of this career success, Nigel Clark exited leaving the public arena in 1998.
Dodgy success had included a critically acclaimed 1st album The Dodgy Album including the much touted single Lovebirds and the relative commercial success for the 2nd album Homegrown that included the radio friendly single Staying out for The Summer (used for TV advertising currently). There followed platinum album sales for the Dodgy 3rd album Free Peace Sweet (1996, A&M Records) with x4 top 20 singles Good Enough, In a Room, If Youre Thinking of Me and Found You.
Nigel Clark was born in Worcestershire in 1966, and in moving out of London in 2000, it was as good a place as any to return to his roots and get his music back on track.
After 15 years in the music industry, Nigel Clark is more committed than ever and as well as recording his own material, he has successfully established music projects which offer music technology and songwriting creative workshops, as well as working with other artists and bands as a Songwriter and Producer from his Worcestershire Studio.
In October 2006, Nigel Clark returned with a new album: 21st Century Man (Hijack Records). Its a poignant and personal album reflecting on the times and changes since days with Dodgy. A consummate songwriter with a love of a beautiful melody, this album will remind you of folk-pop music from yesteryear. Nigel Clark has often referenced his music heroes (as a music fan first and foremost) and there is once again a gentle simplicity to these songs and tangible audible influences from Brian Wilson to John Lennon.
But the DodgY story wasn't over for 2008 see them return for a series of gigs across the UK and once again they'll be gracing the stage of some of the UK's finest festivals and who nows what else, at long last Nigel feels he's where he needs to be balancing his studio, his solo work and his band
