Known for his raw flow, full of witty punchlines, J-Haze injects creativity into every bar. J credits his creativity in music to his upbringing in life. "I grew up in a house that was extremely competitive, you had to be the fastest, the strongest, have the quickest comeback... or you would get stepped on." Since he was the youngest, J was kept out of what his 2 brothers were doing, so he had to use his imagination to survive in his own way." Raised by his hardworking mother, who was a teacher, J was more than encouraged to pursue the path of traditional education, but the pull of music was still too much for him to ignore.-----------------------------------------------------

"You just have to stay true to yourself," says J of his turbulent journey to becoming a recording artist. "A lot of artists nowadays are trying to be something that they aren't in real life. You won't ever get that from me. I don't care how good of a career move it would be to sell out… if I don't feel it personally, I'm not going to sing it because it's not true to me.
