NEW SINGLES AND THE REFLECTION ALBUM COMING SUMMER 09'Rapper T-Boy brings rhymes that tell stories over beats that make the body move. His music and words send messages about life and love to his listeners, at the same time exploring the struggles and ups and downs of making a name for oneself as a rapper and artist.
“My music is about real life. Real situations and experiences people can learn from,†T-Boy says. “I talk about love, pain, and the better things in life. I educate my listeners about the important things in life through my music.â€
In summer of 2009, T-Boy will release an 18-track debut album called The Reflection. Produced by Vincent Forde, a.k.a. V.0.9, the album also benefited from the help of West Coast mainstay San Quinn, rapper/entrepreneur Clyde Carson, and renowned Bay Area rapper/producer Traxamillion. The album’s emotional weight comes from T-Boy’s experiences with love, his struggles with losing his father in 2004, and his unwavering motivation to make it as a rapper.
Before going solo, T-Boy, along with partner Shamrocc, fronted the rap group Free Agentz. In 2004, the group released the album Business B4 Pleasure, selling over 5,000 copies, and many of the songs went into regular rotation in clubs. Free Agentz showed an independent, entrepreneurial spirit, with the group self-producing their album and managing promotional tasks, graphics, and distribution.
T-Boy has been heavily involved in the Bay Area music scene for the past few years. His job as a street team promoter for local radio stations Wild 94.9 and 106.1 KMEL gave him the chance to develop his knowledge of promotions and the music industry as well as to interact with local rappers and national celebrities (Lil Bow Wow, Ludacris, and Ciara, to name a few).
T-Boy also received training in sound engineering from Expression College for Digital Arts, where he learned the ins and outs of mixing and engineering. He currently works as a sound engineer for Clear Channel Radio.
Some of T-Boy’s other projects have included the Traxamillion-produced single “Nothing to Lose.†He rapped on the single “Role with a Boss†with Mistah Fab in 2007. T-Boy’s songs have been heard on Bay Area stations KZSC 88.1, KSJS 90.5, and KJCC 104.1 radio. He has shared the stage with Bubba Sparks and Mistah Fab, and he continues to gain attention with his powerful style. Go to any one of his shows and you’ll probably see the crowd dancing and sharing in the intense emotions T-Boy explores in his rapping, whether he’s riffing on political issues or his personal experiences.EXCURSION RADIO INTERVIEW!
