About Me

Ardent Humanist. Talker. Love the great oudoors especially the coastal bits. Got a beachside weekender in nearby Phillip Island. Get down there just about every weekend for surfs, cook offs, laughs and anything else that gives me an excuse to get out of the big smoke. Surfed all over the world. Holidays OS usually include a tropical destination with uncrowded waves. Mad keen skier. Work hard to look after myself. In the final legs of a screenplay based on a true story of survival and escape from Cambodia's Khmer Rouge. Left of centre. Deeply concerned about the state of world affairs – specifically Western hypocrisy. Strong social conscience. Film fan. Love a dance. Extensive but useless hoarder of general knowledge.

My Interests

Writing. Design. Surfing. Skiing. Jenga. Food and wine. Reading. Film. World affairs. Travel. Women. Golf. Debate.

I'd like to meet:

Intelligent, funny, real people who love a laugh – even if it's at themselves. Confident straightshooters with respect for the people around them and a good understanding of self. Socially and politically aware. Definately no 'bury their head in the sand' types.

Music:

Broad. Electronica through to lounge. Doing a bit of a retro thing at the moment: Led Zepellin, Stones, Tom Petty, White Stripe and Metallica. Lounge: Hotel Costas, St Germaine Boulevard and Nude Dimensions. Hate what they now cal R&B.

Movies:

One Flew Over The Cuckoo Nest. Midnight Cowboy. Taxi Driver. Apocalypse Now. Killing Fields. Life Of Brian. American Beauty. Chinatown. Just about anything by: David Lynch, Martin Scorsese, Tim Burton, The Cohen Brothers, Kubrick and The Kaufmans.

Television:

Cable nut: History channel. The Office. Little Britain. Monty Python. Fawlty Towers. The Civil War. The West or anything else made by Ken Burns. Abhor reality TV.

Books:

Stay Alive My Son ( the subject of my film). One Flew Over The Cuckoo Nest. A Clockwork Orange. Guns germs and Steel. All of Noam Chomsky, John Pilger, P J O'rourke, Bill Bryson and Michael Moore.

Heroes:

Michael Palin. Pin Yathay. Noam Chomsy. John Pilger. Kelly Slater. Nicholas Cage. Rober De Niro.
