About Me

Well it has been a long time since I lived in the US. I came here almost 8 years ago, to do a masters degree, and am now working on a doctorate in music performance. I also am doing a fair amount of freelancing and other work. You may ask yourself: do I know this guy? if you lived in Neenah or Menasha WI and went to one of the catholic schools there... you probably do.. ;-) Seeing good ol' St. Mary's after the Cathedral in Cologne is still kind of a let down.. :-)hope you all are doing well. If you want to hear what I have been up to go to www.myspace.com/tubaboy or www.myspace.com/pentaphonicbrass

My Interests

I'm interested in Music listening, performing, and composing. I also find languages very interesting although I only speak English and German. Then there are a host of others, which are just too many to mention hier. Grüße an alle die Deutsch können! Kölle Allaaf!

I'd like to meet:

Anybody... I've spent a lot of time in a small room with two very large pieces of metal..... It's rough being a tuba-player. :-) Ok maybe not anybody... anybody who's IQ is higher than 2 times their age... ;-)

Music:

I listen to everything from Arnold Schönberg to Sick of it All. but since I spend most of my time making music, I listen to stuff that I don't have to listen to.. People think that as a classical musician I should go to orchestra concerts every week.... that last time I was at a concert I didn't perform at, was three years ago.

Television:

er.. how do you turn this stupid thing on?

Books:

I'm very much into classical German Literature.... I've read just about everybody there. Goethe, Schiller, Lessing, Heine, Eichendorf and others. Modern German literature too( Hesse, Brecht, Rilke, Grass, Mann, and others), I know, I know, I'm a bit of a geek there, but reading them in the original languages has done wonders for my German. Those are about the only things that I read that are different, at least from my fellow americans. :-)

Heroes:

Arnold Jacobs, Hans Gelhar, and a host of other people, no one's ever heard of.....

My Blog

Going Home

Solitude

So many of my friends think that I'm depressed, because I'm avoiding them. The ones that know me better are perplexed... because for the first time in a while I seem content with myself and the world....
