About Me

Washington, DC native, Gram Green, has always been a fan of good music. Raised on Hip-Hop, R&B, and Go-Go(a form of music popular to the DC Area), Green, 18, has been molded by the inner-city culture of his city, and it is evident through his edgy, yet extremely creative musical style. Green, a true scholar, brings traditional intelligence along with street knowledge and creates a new formula for the artist of today. Gram Green brings a style that Hip-Hop has long awaited and fills a void in Hip-Hop and in his hometown, Washington, DC, with his emergence into the game. He cites his grandmother, Lois Nicholson, a music legend in Washington, DC and music teacher for 30 years at Alice Deal Junior High School in the city, as one of his first and largest influences. As a child coming up in a golden age of Hip-Hop, Green was immediately attracted to the culture. By the early age of 6, he was already listening to favorites such as the Notorious B.I.G., Nas, and the Wu-Tang Clan. Along with these artists, Green also lists Jay-Z, Tupac, and Mos Def as some of his biggest influences. Eager to change the current game of Hip-Hop with good music and something new, Gram Green began recording while in high school. In his senior year, he and longtime childhood friend, Tahir “Chief” Madyun, came together and started their own, Black House Entertainment Group, an independent record label. With Green’s current mixtape, he is looking to put his city on the map, bring that good music back, and most importantly, make his own Black House Entertainment Group label a household name.
