Mercenary Recordz

YES IT'S OFFICAL......IT'S MERCENARY RECORDZ!!!

About Me

Pounds is a man with a vision. A vision to become a pioneer in the rise of DCs hip hop scene. A music mogul in the early stages always coming up with new ideas one after another. Focused, determined, striving, and dedicated are just a few characteristics that make up a percentage of Pounds business ethics. Hands on with every project- production, concept creator, engineering, radio meetings, magazine interviews, photo shoots, video director, etc. If it involves Mercenary, Pounds is guaranteed to be there.Big Iron is the backbone the structures Mercenary Recordz. Pounds childhood friend who has came up with him since the beginning and shares the same visions and aspirations. Big Iron is, in some ways, the DC version of Suge Knight-providing financial support, street knowledge, possessing the "hustlers ambition", and power. He operates in the shadows rarely seen in the field though his presence is felt.Akeem!!!, AKA Mercenarys Finest, is Pounds right hand man. He is the marketer and business advisor in making all of Mercenary Recordz executive decisions. He was chosen by Pounds because of his intelligence, support, and loyalty. A ryhme sayer himself, he also helps with song lyrics and production.Currently the Da Mercenaryz hit "Bang With Us" featuring Miami hustler Rick Ross is in rotation on radio stations WKYS 95.5 and WKYS 93.9 . "A Good Look" featured DC local and party starter DJ Kool. DJ Kool is best known for his classic hip-hop/go-go single "Let Me Clear My Throat". So it was only right that Mercenary Recordz hooked up with the DC veteran for that hometown flavor. On the Mercenary mixtape, Big Mu kept the streets scorching with the songs "Cal and Mu"- a HOT single done over the Ashanti "Only U" track. Big Mu collaborated with Lady L on her "Like A Boss" remix. WKYS 93.9 radio DJ Alizay received some love from Big Mu for the 5 o’clock "traffic mix". Big Mu provided some slick words on the Mercenary Family single "Love 2 Ball (Part 2)" from the second Mercenary Family album "Mercenary Family Strikes Back Vol II". The song was elected Mercenarys second video that gave fans a first glimpse of the Petersburg MC.Da Mercenaryz have open up for Camron, Petey Pablo, Young Gunz, and many other artist at Howard University 2004 Homecoming. They were personally invited to perform by Yukmouth at the former 2K9 location after he came through to drop a hot 16. Rick Ross has expressed intrest in future recordings after recording "Bang Wit Us". What sets Da Mercenaryz apart from other rappers is their lyrical content, their ying/yang rap style, the tracks Mercenary Recordz conjures up, the fact that the songs they put out are radio/club play worthy, and...........their mercenary soldiers, out to make that money BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!!!***"DA BOOTY DROP 08" DANCE CONTEST CONTESTANT!!! Influences: Hip Hop music of yesterday, today, and the future!!! Motivation comes from the love of the art form. To captivate a crowd with your words and leaving them fiending for more. With the DC metro area being overlooked for years Da Mercenaryz want to be the first artists recognized across the country. They want to be the name coming out the mouths of West Coast hip-hop fans, the music the South bumps out of the caddie trunks, the artist collaborating with the East Coast artists, and the ones to give Mid West rappers a run for there money. A few influences would be Jay Z, Notorious B.I.G, Tupac/Makaveli, Nas, Camp Lo, Ludacris, Geto Boys, Scarface; but Da Mercenaryz are out to solidify there own moniker in this augmenting genre of music. _______
Sounds Like: What you NEED to be listening to!!!
