About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace) In 1996 Marshall Flawless Penson, Andre Ammo Penson, and Jamaica Automatic Wilson came together with a love of making music. In search of a name they came up with Tough Luck, a testament to the day-to-day struggle they faced growing up in Milwaukee, WI; an area where drug dealing, armed robberies, and murders were the norm. Being surrounded by these negative influences was leading the teens in the wrong direction. Hoping to provide her sons with a better future, Flawless and Ammos mother sent them to live in Madison, WI with family. Unfortunately, the new environment proved to be even more damaging. After the arrest of Ammo and Automatic on charges of homicide in January of 2000, Flawless knew that he needed to turn his life around unless he wanted to end up in the same predicament. Flawless decided to move back to Milwaukee and become more focused on his music. When Flawless returned from Madison he teamed up with Lamero Bricks Ragsdale and began doing music together. Thats when the grind began. Although they had no equipment, they were driven to make music. They began to take the bus everyday to Mars Music Store, where Flawless began making beats. It finally started to come together and they were able to begin circulating their music throughout Milwaukee. As Bricks and Flawless continued to perfect their craft, they realized they needed not only a name change, but also more people to make bigger things happen. Bricks and Flawless called 30 to 40 people that they knew who shared their passion for music and they all sat down in search of a new name. That is when FlaTLine Records came about. They wanted to make sure Tough Luck still played a big role with what they were doing, so they capitalized the T and L in the middle of FlaTLine and put a clover in the middle. But things did not go as planned. Everyone had their own ideas and opinions on the way that things should be done, which were not all in line with what Bricks and Flawless had planned. After adjustments were made, the remaining members of FlaTLine Records were Bricks, Flawless, Demetrius Goon OConnor, and Darron ShoNuff Harris; things were finally back on track.Focusing more and more on the music they connected with Robert Fifty Boyd. Fifty, not being an artist himself, expressed his love for music through his knowledge of business; he began to help Flawless and Bricks strengthen FlaTLine Records by becoming its CEO. With Fifty helping to put albums together, promote shows, showcase their music and push them in the directions needed; the buzz around FlaTLine Records began to grow stronger. After several months of Fifty leading FlaTLine Records, Michael Punkin Mac, Flawless cousin, showed interest in joining the FlaTLine crew. Punkins eagerness to fill in and help out where Fifty needed moved him up within the ranks of FlaTLine Records quickly; eventually putting in a position to become the president of FlaTLine Records.Although FlaTLine Records was making a name for itself in the music community, something was still missing. FlaTLine Records wanted to make sure that their group could tailor to all audiences, male and female; that missing piece of FlaTLine Records was filled by an up and coming female rap artist named Sarlena Re-Re Robertson.Today FlaTLine Records continues with their main focus to produce quality music with hopes to boost radio rotation, eventually leading them to mainstream exposure.
