THE STORY SO FAR
One cold night in early 2005, the mid-winter gloom combined with the careless use of Jägermeister and the inspiring surroundings of a cabin hidden deep in the woods led to a few awe-inspiring riffs caught on tape. What began as Timi and Ilmari's two guitar get-away jam session had finished off as the formation of a new band. Or to be more exact, as an idea of a whole new kind of band.
The idea was to put together a band that would deliver all-out war in its innovative trash metal riffs, its unmatched speed and in-your-face attitude, while still maintaining its integrity by truly having something to say, both musically and lyrically. Not to redefine metal as a genre, but to do it better than those before us. And to maintain the edge and agression, while avoiding the metal clichés.
The two men left the hideout hung-over and tired, but inspired. As always, what followed was an exhausting search for the right people. Through the year 2005 the idea was brought into existence through various, forever-changing forms. All and all, the whole period was more about writing songs and keeping our eyes open than trying to settle for the next best thing.
In the spring of 2006 it all started finally coming together with the introduction of Jonne and Timo to the band. Through the creative and precise rhythm work of the duo, the band started to find its edge and come up with the right sound for delivering its cause. The storm clouds were finally starting to gather over the skies of Hamina, and electricity was certainly in the air. But you can't have a storm without the sound of thunder.
The final piece to the puzzle was set when Antti joined the band in the summer of 2006. The forming metal storm had truly found the sound of thunder, and most importantly, a frontman who looked, sounded and lived his business. Through Antti's give-it-all, no-holds-barred vocal expression the band became ready to take the outside by a storm. Finally, Sinister Will was born.
Soon, the band will enter the studio, lock the door a throw away the key, and record a demo. A little taste of what's to come can be heard through the few tracks recorded live at the rehearsals. Can you hear the storm coming?
