About Me
Resort to Distort started in early 2001, when Crustopher joined a hardcore band called Bloodshot. They were an already established band, but when Crustopher showed them his songs, they changed their sound. The singer, being the douche that he was, didnt like the transition and quit the band. Since Jesse was always at the practices and knew all the songs, he was the perfect canidate to take over vocal duties. The first thing they did was to change the name of the band. Resort to Distort was: Brian Balls-bass, Crustopher-guitar, Jesse-vocals, and Snowball-drums. Resort to Distort then continued to write more songs, and played their first show live on 1100AM radio and at the Tribe with Contravene and ETTS. After that, they contined to play small shows here and there, and soon traded a steak and a case of cheap beer to record a 4 song demo called "Who's side are you on" @ Gobo Studios in Tempe. In 2001 Resort to Distort recorded a DRI song, "Slumlord", that went on a tribute to DRI called "We Don't Need Society" with bands like the Fartz, STFU, Capitalist Casualties, Mr. Bungle, North Side Kings, and many more. The comp can still be found through Malt Soda Records. The songs from the demo, as well as the cover, went onto a CD-R split with The Stillborns from Cameron, AZ. Resort to Distort played tons of great shows with awesome bands from Arizona and afar. A few of these bands: Contravene, Sea of Deprivation, The Abiotx, 25 Cents, Bodhisattva, ETTS, Thretning Verse, E.T.A., Vitamin X, Broken Society, Tio Torro, Thee Illuminatics, Ugly Kids, The Stillbornes, and so many more they can't remember. Everywhere they played they left a drunken path of distruction. In late 2002 Jesse went away to take care of legal problems that had been haunting him, and Resort to Distort continued on as a 3 piece to play a few more shows, and record one more 2 song demo @ Gobo Studios, and finally broke up a couple months later. Crustopher and Brian Balls went on to start Violent Reaction, and when Jesse returned he joined what would eventually become Warfair? The Resort to Distort releases and the Violent Reaction demo are available by contacting Brian Balls in the top 8. The first four bands in our top 8 are all our new bands. Check them out, and SUPPORT!!!!
