michael gormley

My names michael Gormley. I come from a town in ireland called sligo, home of some great musical talents such as dervish, nervous animals, tabby callaghan, seamie o dowd, westlife (and thats only the tip of the ice berg!). I moved away from sligo in february of 2003 to find myself a band, so i moved to cambridge and started introducing myself to the local scene, jamming at local blues, jazz and funk jams all over town. I found that cambridge musicians where very friendly and always willing to help and give advice. After i played in a few cover bands i started to really get a feel for what i wanted to do, so i started putting together some rough demos of my music, spent a few months putting together a band (Saint Zoe), which was finalised by lead guitarist max delderfield. We spent maybe two months rehearsing at my uncles club then started playing as many places as we could, building up a following, and with the money we where making went into the studio to record a five track ep.i got engaged to Kelly Neville the women who stole my heart the moment i met her, and am hoping shell still want me by 2008 when we plan to marry, shes a support worker for the elderly / Model (see her link below)and councillor to me, so you get the jist of how amazing she is. the band kept gigging but slowly things started to fall apart and we decided to call it a day, the energy wasnt there anymore for some of the band So for the last six months i have been writing and recording new material, some of which is demoed on my profile.new polished up material will be up in febuary.
