just your average thundercats ho..
also..Sarah Neufeld
you want a list? well, I will try to oblige..
instrumental stuff like Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions In the Sky, Mogwai, and Sigur Ros. along with the compositions (mostly chamber) of Dimitri Shostakovich, Schubert and the like. I also enjoy a good lyric or two which has lead me to bands like Mineral and The Gloria Record, Death Cab For Cutie, Criteria, The Black Heart Procession, American Analogue Set, Brandtson and Sunny Day Real Estate. then there are the occasional soundtrack/ambient/shoegazer/whateverthehellyouwanttocallit,
e.g., My Bloody Valentine, Spiritualized or Air. Finally I'm not without my more energetic moments in which I've been known to listen to the likes of Burning Airlines, June of 44, Atom and His Package, Me Without You, Dietrichs, We Are Scientists, Blonde Redhead and so-on, and so-forth. all that having been said there are two men you cannot deny:Johnny Cash and Jonah Matranga (in all his encarnations)
The Goonies, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, 28 Days Later, Saved!, I (heart) Huckabees.
it's easier just to list channels here. The Discovery Channel, The History Channel, The Science Channel and The Cartoon Network are pretty much it. occasionally I find myself on MTV's The Real World though if I haven't had enough high school drama in my day.
how about authors? C. S. Lewis other than that, pretty much anything from which I can learn more about discrete electronic design.
