Influences: Relaxator’s prepared this one of a kind mix of lounge house and late night breeze melodies for one of the leading lounge bars on the Balkans – the notorious Opera www.opera-bg.info. Located in the center of Bulgaria’s capital Sofia, Opera is the melting point of the retro chic post communist fashion and the high-end west luxury. A unique vibe that DJ Roelove 74 & DJ Jurr (residents of Supperclub, NL) totally captured on the CD. The compilation Relaxator’s Opera:tion Lounge vol.1 is a brand child of Opera’s musical supervisor – Jovan Gligorov, who selected his 200 top favorite tracks from the club’s play list and let the Dutch DJ duo DJ Roelove 74 & DJ Jurr do their thing with them. The result is a mix that kicks off with the flamenco guitars of El Kado’s “Caravane”, which slowly builds up until the second part of the disc blows full scale disco filled with neon glow by the designer synths of John Dahlbaeck’s “Magic Touch” and the classic Chicago flavored “In my life” by Jay-J. The set includes over the top tunes as Japanese wiz-kid Hideo Kobayashi with “You are”, the opening track from UK loungers Neolectrique’s album Neolectrism “African Blues” and the up-and-coming singer Simone De Neuw with “Luv”. The Bulgarian scene is represented by C6’s ethno fueled “Todoro le mlada belo” which features authentic 3-voice choir and the sexy deep vocals of Naty in “Seven Roses”. The deep house DJ legend of the region – DJ Ilko sets the record straight in “Sunday Night” and the Bulgarian native Stan Kolev (more popular as the half of Casa Flava with Oliver Berger) shows that even with his new residency in Miami the percussions of the Orient still beat in his heart. The final track is chosen as if that’s the closing-credits of a movie - Orange Muse – You (Blue Bossa Mix) and the silence afterwards makes you think for a while, then press to replay. From collectors point of view Relaxator’s Opera:tion Lounge vol.1 is a fresh collection of tracks in hard to find remixes and to make it even better – 4 unreleased tunes and one pre-release. From music traveler’s point of view that’s an exciting journey in the unknown universe of the Balkan lounge.
