About Me

Amphibian is the project name for Frank Palaiokrassas' endeavours in composition and production.Frank started out playing piano at the age of 7 and then guitar at the age of 18. His first serious exposure to electronic music took place after moving to the UK to study Marine Engineering in the University of Newcastle. A year later he began getting involved by starting a team organizing trance parties called “Synapse”, from early 1999 till 2003, in Newcastle. Their success and growing involvement with music and event organization eventually led him to DJing trance and chillout since Autumn 2000. In the years that followed he organized various events, as well as chillout rooms for large club nights and played in trance parties, club nights, squat parties and outdoor events all around the UK, as well as in Samothraki 2002, Sonica 2005 and Voov 2006.His exposure to a hugely varied audience combined with his vast range of musical influences, electronic or not, ultimately brought about the inspiration and eagerness needed to embark on the Amphibian journey. His technical knowledge and understanding developed by his engineering degrees combined with years of playing around with production software and reading up on synthesis and effects have paved the path for clear, full production, spacious atmospheres and organic textures - taking into account his equipment limitations. Currently trying to establish a new base (and studio) his computer has finally gotten back to work after an unnecessarily long break.
