About Me

Its a little long, but what the fuck else do you have to do. Well let's see. I grew up in the dirty south, in a little town called Jackson, MS. It might be easier if you picture somewhere three hours north of New Orleans, and three hours south of Memphis. Believe me, I hear it every day. Wow, I've never met anyone from MS. Or the occasional, oh I drove through there once. You can paint it any color you like, but the deal is, its what you make of it. From the words of Grateful Dead's lyric writer Robert Hunter, "dont tell me this town ain't got no heart, you just gotta poke around". Yeah I know I am a fucking hippy, get over it. I did years ago. The south had its ups and downs like anywhere, one thing I really miss is the deep roots and culture, from blues to bop, jambands to jazz. If youv'e never been to New Orleans, go. Even after Katrina. The two best people I have heard describe that city is Bob Dylan in his autobiography(vol 1) and of course Anne Rice(most of her work). Anyway after travelling all over the country with family and of course the Dead and Phish tours. I got the itch, you know the one. What else can I do here, I've been there done that. So around nineteen I moved to Boulder, CO, where my uncle lived. Oh my goodness what a head change, literally. I immediately immersed myself in outdoor things, especially snowboarding. Don't get me wrong I love to camp and hike, oh did I mention the photography in the rockies? I know you've seen pictures. This is where I picked up dj'ing, oh and ummm the art of indoor horticulture. It sort of consumed me for a while, both of them. What am I saying it still does, at least the dj part anyway. I wouldn't trade moving to a new state (not knowing anyone, where to go, what to do) for anything in this world. I met the kindest people and did the kindest things. So after ten years of fun and sun in Colorado, all things must come to an end. Remember that if you find yourself stuck in a rut, and have nowhere else to turn, pick your shit up and move. Well it worked for me anyway, twice. I think my mom and stepdad felt the same way. About six years ago, my stepdad got a job offer for a radio station out of Reno, NV. Yeah, yeah, I know what you're thinking, the same thing I thought. Why in the hell would anyone want to move to a little Vegas? So after CO, I made my way out to Reno. I have been here for about three years now. There are just some things I couldn't move away from, snowboarding, mountains, and the access to kind people, which the Reno/Tahoe area has its share. Oh yeah and my mom, can't forget that one. I have recently found that family is important. To make a long story longer, I have enjoyed my live in Nevada, there are worse place to be than 90 miles south of the Black Rock Desert. I have broken myself in nicely here. I have started a career in surveying, had a wonderful relationship which gave me my daughter, Willa Olivia(see pics). Like I said, I know what family is all about now. I never imagined myself as a dad. When she came along I was going nuts, but it actually makes you stop and realize why we are all here in the first place. She will always be the love of my life. After all of that, I don't know if Reno will be my permanent home. I want to show my little girl the world. A sheltered life is for suckers. SO take my advice and start living today, that is if you haven't already! You never know when it could all change.

technohippy1. a computer nerd with hippy ideals2. there are cyberpunks and script kiddies, but technohippies are a breed of their own. they are not malacious, but only interested in the way things work. usually not the "l33test", (in terms of knowledge of a specific area), but they have a broad wisdom of many different technologies. the favored music of the technohippy consists of (but is not limited to): post-rock, electronica, ambience, eccentric cultural music, and any other obscure music. technohippies are often very philosophical, but are open to new ideas (as long as they are somewhat intelligent). ignorance and hatred is looked down upon by the technohippy, and some may even be a bit cynical. all in all, a technohippy is a philisophically-open eccentric geek.1. look at those technohippies, marching for their rights to share music2. i am not a hacker. i am not a cyberpunk. i am a technohippy.
