I'm a simple guy. I've never been much of a wild child. I might have a few drinks from time to time, but most nights I am at home, tending to Hannah, and then spending a bit of time on the computer before bed. I like to bowl, shoot pool, and even take in a movie from time to time. As of today (9/26/06), I have joined the Free and Accepted Masons, and a great deal of what little free time I have will be directed at digesting the huge amount of information before me to learn my degrees.
If I had the opportunity to meet one individual, it would have to be Jimmy Buffett. I am and have been a die hard Parrothead for years. Something in the music speaks to me, and beyond that, you have to love the man's life. He flies a plane, vacations on the beach, travels the world, meets interesting people. And all of this ends up being his job. These adventures and experiences become the material for his songs. And for anyone that has ever seen him live in concert, you can tell he loves what he does and that there is nothing in the world he would rather be doing. What a life! Success AND fun.
Jimmy Buffett (Go figure, if you read the above), Dave Matthews, Nickelback, Counting Crows, Ben Folds, nearly any classic rock...When all is said and done, for the most part, my musical taste is simple. ABC - Anything But Country!
Chronicles of Riddick, Lord of the Rings, and just about anything sci-fi or comedy.
Hannah hogs the TV quite a bit, very glad to have put her her own in her room on those rare occasions when Daddy overrules her to watch *his* show instead of another playing of the Lion King, Max and Ruby, and the Wiggles. The ones I most like are: Smallville, Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis, Eureka and what is probably the best sci-fi drama I have ever seen: Heroes.
Anything by Stephen King! Been a King fan as far back I was able to tackle and 800 - 1200 page book.
Any of the men who risked their lives in NYC to rescue the fallen on 9/11/2001. Make believe hereos are one thing, but no matter how much time passes, those that put their lives on the line then (and those unsung heroes that still do on a daily basis) should never be forgotten.
