My Dads biological parents & Drew & Jessica!
Phish , Dead , Cousin Fungus , UMPS , Clapton , Stevie Wonder , Jane's Addiction , Galactic , Moe. ,....There really is too much to list . My parents took my to my first concert when I was around 4 , maybe 1980 . It was John Denver @ the Westbury Music Fair in the Round . I remember my Dad walking me down to meet him , I was in my pajamas with the feet on them & I probably fell asleep after the first couple of songs . Years later , I Believe it was around '88 - '89 when My Pop took me to see Van Halen @ Nassau Colliseum & then back @ Nassau to see Great White open up for Whitesnake . AHHH the 80's. Next stage of music (the 90's) was scattered , which my taste in music still is . The Beastie Boys , Madonna , C,S,N , Chicago , DMB , Ziggy Marley , Billy Joel , Rusted Root , to list a few , All Great Concerts but My life really took a turn when I started seeing the Grateful Dead in the early 90's . Garcia was @ the end of his long strange trip , but I didn't know that , I knew that hangin w/ Sid , some friends & this music mixed really well . I got to see a handfull of shows , less then a dozen including Jerry Garcia Band (Great Halloween Show '93) But wish I saw Jerry play at least one show Sober , even though he was far from . We all know what happened in August of '95 , we lost Jerry . After High School I started hanging out with some really good people and all of them happened to listen to Phish . I didn't want to be the guy who started listening to Phish just because Jerry had died , so I made a deal , a great deal it turned out . I didn't want to listen to any Phish untill I saw them live & then form my opinion . My first Show was 12/1/95 @ Hershey Park & it was amaising , I believe my exact words were " Where are they playing tomorrow & can we go ? " From that show on is history , for the next 9 years my main consern was Phish , where are they playing , when are they playing & how do I get there ? I sold just about everything on the lot from Mac-n-cheese to Stickers to Wool Sweaters just to have $ for gas to get through the week . Lauren & I fell in love , real love traveling the country together , selling on the lot & enjoying life , it seemed fitting that I proposed to her in Vermont @ the last Phish Concerts , because although it was the end of Phish , It was a whole new beginning for us . I ended up seeing Phish 97 times & with every show I have a great memory , with great friends & loved ones . I have a feeling if I get to see 100 shows our kids will be there to enjoy them with us .
