Smooth Move

Keeping the Fire

About Me

Formed to spread their intense love of really soft music, Smooth Move is making noise in Chicago. Their first two shows drew huge crowds; nearly 150 at the Hideout in November 2006 and over 400 at Martyrs' in January 2007. Rewarded with a headlining slot at Martyrs' on a Saturday night in May, Smooth Move did not disappoint. Never before or since will so many people dance to Lionel Richie. The effortless grooves of Steely Dan, insane harmonies of McDonald, and lyrical wit of Loggins come alive with every Smooth Move performance.

Smooth Move is about friendship: tight bonds between men that dig jean shorts, captains hats, and synthesized flute/violin. These local musicians met in the past year and immediately recognized a shared interest in Yacht Rock, a flavor of soft rock prominent during the mid 70s and early 80s. Fans have responded with adulation and praise. Stay tuned for more Smooth Move.

"Proving that the soft and unoffensive tunes of such music legends as Loggins and Messina, Christopher Cross, and Toto will never lose their luster..." -Gaperblock.com
