However, it wasn't always like that.
High-school in York, England opened his eyes up to electronic music, having received a Whirl-e-gig Astralasia album one Christmas. A matter of days later, He purchased a 486 equipped with a Gravis Ultrasound and promptly started pounding out his very first tracks with FastTracker 2. Even today, the tracker / demoscene community remains a heavy influence in his programming style.
His college years at the State University of New York at Buffalo exposed his sounds to the American-led Detroit techno, New York breaks sounds as well as aspects of the Toronto's electronic music movements; Having been fortunate to work with producers and DJ's such as Alexander Ng (Orange Grove), Adam Ianello (Sirius Breaks), Patrick DSP (Neptune Studios), and the Endangered Kollectiv's jon.dus.
An island boy at heart, John has always reverted back to his hometown, Penang as his key source of his inspiration and motivation for his music, working closely with friends Glo (foundationkl), JeeMeeXTC and Fattz (foundationpg).
Currently, John is based in the nation's capital, Kuala Lumpur, working a day job as a brand manager for a global advertising agency. Even so, he still manages to find the time to freelance as an art director and a/v producer for local event promoters like Tempo Events.
His current projects involve working with Blastique and IV in their live PA band B4C, recent local master class winners of the Heineken Thirst Studio competition as well as setting up a Malaysian electronic music producer's forum in the coming months.
