Born and raised in the small town of Albemarle, NC, Dustin a.k.a. DJ D-DuB is well known for 2 things, knocking people out in the boxing ring and driving impulsive sounds into party-goer ears! DuBz discovered his passion for dance music in from the then famous DJ Rob Knight, another home town and regionally known DJ. As he and other DJs would mix the best of Hip-Hop and R&B music back to back and beat to beat every weekend in Albemarles hottest night club of the time, AfterDark. Teaching himself, Dustin soon began mixing and scratching for many audiences from private parties to open dex sessions at the world famous Afterdeck in Myrtle Beach where he then became intrested in breakbeats produced by such talent as Icey, BabyAnne, Rick West and many more. Dubs soon was added to the lower deck of the super club paying the same parties as BabyAnne, Magic Mike, Keoki, Danny The Wildchild, Dirty30, Skip A Beat and a few more.
At the age of 16, he saved enough money from working in several radio stations to purchase his first set of turntables Technics SL1200's, which are the same decks he still uses to this day. At age 17, he began appearing various clubs throughout NC and SC even before he was old enough to attend them legally.
While continuing to pack the dance floors of the of suburban Albemarle clubs such as AfterDark and Johns Tavern, and far south as Myrtle Beach SC, Dubz took intrest in DJ Skip A Beat, resident DJ of the once infamous Mother Fletchers on the Grand Strand of Myrtle Beach SC, suddenly seen what it takes to rock the crowd all night and followed his success for many years. Several Years later, Skip moved ABeat to Charlotte where these 2 became friends at Charlotte's favorite, Mythos..now The Forum, where Skip holds residency. Later, Dubz Met DJ Soden, a turntablist, holding the title of spinning with the biggest names in the hip hop industry. Dubz then fused these 2 DJs skills together and started something of his own. Now, Dubz mixes and scratches any genre of music your ears can think of ranging from Hip Hop to Rock-n-Roll with a little Top 40 and even breaks all trans together using the sophiscated Serato Scratch Live computer program. At the age of 21 Dubz moved to Charlotte NC with 3 things in mind, School, DJing and boxing. LOOK OUT NC and SC, HE'S ON A MISSION TO TAKE OVER A DANCE FLOOR NEAR YOU!
Not only DJ D-DuB a rising nightclub DJ that is being called on for any kind of event from many types of people, he is accomplished many goals in USA Amatuer boxing, winning titles on local, state, regional and even nationally acclaimed levels, pushing his way into the time trials for the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
