About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorCamilo Quintero (aka Synthdrome) begins his path in music since 1987, when his father bought him that great Casio CT - 615. Camilo starts to explore those synthesized tones, being them the sounds that will help him to learn his ear abilities. Born in 1983 in Bogotá in a home of musicians, he was always listening to some kind of stuff, from Antonio Vivaldi, Bach and Mozart to all kinds of Colombian stuff and those old records his father loves to collect. Years later, his interest in music became real, when he took his cousin's Ride the Lightning. (For those who does not know, it's Metallica's second album.) After that, he went deep inside the heavy metal world, buying as much albums as he could because he fell in love with those 80's metal guitar riffs. In 1998, he went to Frankfurt to get some rest. Being there one evening, decided to use his savings to buy that great Vision electric guitar. Hopefully, that moment was determinant to the birth of Neverland, his very first heavy metal band. With his old friends Felipe Correa and Nicolas Sabogal, they used to play Iron Maiden covers and other melodic bands like Helloween. After years of trying to move on with the band without any luck and play heavier stuff like Children of Bodom's or Dimmu Borgir's, he met Giancarlo Orsi ( a.k.a. e-ris ciruitum), a friend from C-Iberia who took this pair of Numark turntables that were real great for them to begin to set up parties in the local scene mixing the 12"s Giancarlo brought from Rome, in one of his trips to Italy. They've been working together and always tried to build something from the underground. Back in 2003, Synthdrome started to create his own sounds after listening a lot of french and german electronic producers. They gave him great foundations to try to do something new...
