Orion Reign

Hey there! Just thought I'd write a little about myself to let you know what I do and how I came to do it. So if you are actually taking the time to read this thanks and I hope it's entertaining enough for you.
Originally from England, I started playing the piano when I was 10 and was hooked the moment my teacher taught me the theme from Jaws and played some rock 'n roll. I remember thinking that if I could learn to play rock 'n roll like that on the piano then I would be very happy. I then set about playing the theme from Jaws relentlessly to anyone who would listen until I finally learnt something else.
Moving to QLD Australia in 2002 I started out playing in piano bars around the Gold Coast and Brisbane doing mostly covers before moving to Sydney in 2004 to find an audience for my own original music.... I'm still looking. I'm sure though that I will find them soon, unless of course they find me first.
Upon moving to Sydney I recorded a solo album called "Unaccompanied" and then a year later a 2 track single "Hold On To Love" and the "Stripper" before setting up my band called Something More Than Ordinary (SMTO for short).
Playing with other musicians and as part of a band has been great for my songwriting and musicianship which like my personality has evolved from dark and depressing to upbeat and funky. This I must say has been a real plus for myself and for those around me.

Having played at lots of great venues over the last year such as the Basement, Boatshed, Bar Me and many other Sydney hotels, I am really looking forward to seeing what 2008 has in store for me and SMTO.
