Digital sound at analogue levels

About Me

Dean Wuksta...drums, bass, electric and acoustic guitars, keys, vocals, harmonies (of sort) and percussion, also tracked, mixed and mastered. I am mainly a drummer with an interest in recording and songwriting. Have played drums professionally in Tasmania, Melbourne and in Western Australia. Most notably, I spent eight years with Perth band, 'Blue Shaddy', who are still touring and recording to this day. I have limited ability as a singer and as a guitarist, but really enjoy writing, recording and getting an idea from nothing, to its finished conclusion with the aid of digital multi-track recording, it's an amazing technology. PLEASE RATE ME ON TRIPLE J, TOP LOGO IS ME, BOTTOM ONE IS MY BAND HIDDEN TEMPLE

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Dean Wuksta
Influences: Prefab Sprout, Sting, Wang Chung, Michael Franks, Steely Dan, Toto, Frank Zappa, Chick Corea, Allan Holsworth, Level 42, Dave Mathews I think I'm influenced by a lot of the eighties rubbish that was around, got to admire some of the clever hooks and choruses from that era, not to mention over-production. These days, I still listen to a lot of jazz fusion aswell as stuff like Dave Mathews, Pete Murray, Blue Shaddy, John Mayer and that acoustic sort of sound, of which I admire the continued approach to recording 'real' sounds as opposed to samples.
Sounds Like: I don't think I sound a lot like my influences, my songs rarely seem to turn out as I originally intend them to, sometimes worse, sometimes better, it can tend to change as tracks get laid, traffic noise, neighbours etc..
