Wild Oak Songwriters Guild

Whether it is your favorite local singer songwriter or the latest Top 40 single, songwriting is at the root of every aspect of the music industry. As part of Wild Oak Records, a student run record label at Chico State, the Songwriters Guild is an organization that promotes and provides an outlet for the craft of songwriting.The Songwriters Guild is a tool and resource for songwriters. We hold weekly workshops where you can read or play your material for constructive feedback. During these songwriter nights, we hope that artists can benefit from comments and suggestions from the other songwriters who attend the workshops.Songwriters Guild workshops are also a place to network with other musicians, and a place for possible collaborations. The Songwriters Guild sponsors other events such as Open Mic Nights, performance based Songwriter Competitions, and Songwriter Showcases which feature the top artists from the Songwriter Competitions.
