Camoes Restaurant, located on the corner of Washington and Second Street in Athens, NY, was established July 24, 2006. Coming from nine plus years of experience in Italian cuisine, Greene County native, Josh Lackie was able to bring a little taste of Italy to the quiet street corner of Historic Athens. Formally, Gerards Cafe, this family owned and operated restaurant has been described by customers and neighbors as comparable to that of a corner in Little Italy! Customers rave that Cameos is just the perfect combination of class and comfort for any type of dining occasion. Chose from freshly brewed iced tea or a fine bottle of red wine... Linguini with homemade meat sauce or Piled High Seafood. Cup o' Joe or an espresso with your homemade dessert!! A variety of choices, a variety of prices... however, what does stay constant is the quality of food, service and pride in your comfort and satisfaction!!
