In high school, I lettered in football, wrestling and track. In college, I continued wrestling and picked up pool and fooseball. I got my back racked up wrestling, had spinal fusion and found computers. I've been actively working with computers since 1970 (and no that wasn't the beginning of the computer industry).
I started playing trumpet in grammer school and still play. In high school I added Bass Guitar, but never got good. In the 70's I picked up Pedal Steel Guitar. Recently I started playing Madolin and occasional harmonica. I always have fun when I'm in a band, since I get to play a lot of parts. I'm not currently playing in a group, but I do get out to jam sessions from time to time.
After spending years, sitting behind a desk and getting fatter, I realized I better do something or lose my health. I joined a gym two and half years ago. I am now running 5k's and riding a bicycle to work (10 miles round trip). I've still got a lot to lose but I'm now a "hard-body" in disguise.
I book and manage a really great rock band - Tafoya's Lost BoyZZ - an amazing power trio rock/blues group.
I play pedal steel and trumpet in the Joe Powers Country Band. We host an open mic at Little Bighorn in Mudelein every Thursday and play out whenever we can.
I've been married nearly 30 years (yeah I don't believe it either). I have two fantastic nearly grown children. My wife, Diana, and I have been friends forever. She's a fantastic artist. My daughter, Rebecca, recently graduated from the University of Chicago. My son, Erik, is the bassist with Tafoya's Lost BoyZZ. He also does sound reinforcement and is a full time student.
Take the quiz:
What modern movie do you belong in? (with pictures)
Fight Club
You belong in ... Fight Club. You are anti-government, anti-conformist, anti-Abercrombie... pretty much anti-everything. You like movies with weird endings and movies that get you thinking. You are going to blow up a good number of credit card company buildings in a little while. Thats... kinda explosive.
