Tournament UPDATE

Women's Columbus Tournament 2007

Great job this weekend Ladies!!! Both teams busted it and brought home the gold in both divisions. Thank you to Mel who batted down the puck and kept it out of the goal as Kirsten had just gone down for a save at the very end of the Peg's Championship game. The Peg's went to a 5 minute overtime and then to a shootout with Lex making the game winning goal! Again, thanks to Kirsten, our marathon goalie who played 8 awesome games over the weekend!!!

The Hardhat

For those who have been around a while you may remember "The Hardhat" award. The Hardhat award is always presented by the coach to the hardest worker of the game. Each person earning the Hardhat puts their name on it, keeps it....and wears it.... until it is past off at the next game. This NWIHL tradition was awakened this past weekend, and rightly so, by the lower division who fought hard and earned their division championship trophy. Hardhat winners:
Game 1: Marla "Bruiser" Conner
Game 2: Janice "Firestone" Flowers
Game 3: Janel "Fingers" Jones
Championship: Robyn "Lobyn" Jannetta
Sounds like everyone had a blast this past weekend! It was great spending some quality time with the team! For those of you who didn't come, you MISSED out! Next time join us for a fun packed tournament!
