Enrique Brooks, an 18 year old born and raised in central Florida, found his love in music at the age of 3, beating on pots and pans in his grandparents' kitchen. It took 12 years of playing the drums to realize that he could actually make a living making music. A friend introduced him to a preproduction program called Fruity Loops and he immediately began down this long path. Realizing that songs were nothing more than poetry with rhythm, he began to write lyrics and record songs with a karaoke mic on the household computer. Later he purchased a Yamaha Motif6, seeking the hands on feel versus clicking away with a mouse, increasing his keyboarding skills. He now owns an ES7. During his sophomore year he recieved his first guitar and fell in love with the sweet tone.
In the fall of 2006 he met Sean Hill, a local artist from NC. They immediately got together and produced Enrique's first heart felt song, "Let's just take it slow," and that was the start of something great. The song was phenomenally performed with a live band in the Brandon High School talent show, but to the surprise of many, including the winner, Enrique didn't even place. He kept his head up and kept moving forward, writing and recording more songs, preparing for whats destined to happen.
Immediately upon graduating from high school, he began attending the International Academy of Design and Tech, seeking to receive a bachelor's in Recording Arts. Regardless of what others may feel is "smart," he prefers to follow his heart and do what it takes to get to where he wants to go. His style of music is a combination of R&B, Gospel and Soul. His main objective is to create pure music versus the commercialized feel of artists today.
