Shilan Latrace was born in New Albany,Indiana. The second oldest of four sisters and two half brothers. She began singing in her church, St. James Victory Temple COGIC at the age of three. Her church played a big part in her love for music and performing. At this church she learned to play piano and drums at the age of 9. Shilan would sing with her sisters at different churches,writing songs and singing them wherever they could. Shilan attended Indiana University in Bloomington and will be receiving her Bachelors degree in music business and production with a minor in music. She has performed with Indiana Universities African American Choral Ensemble and with the small group Sojourner since her freshman year. She has graced the stage with Sounds of Blackness singer Patricia Lakey-Aiken and many other well-know musicians. Now residing in Los Angeles, California, Shilan is working on her debut album and is currently doing shows at different venues. This singer, songwriter, producer, instrumentalist, and artist in every aspect is a force to be reckoned with. When the world picks her up, they will not be able to put her down.
