About Me

I beleive I have led a very lucky life as the Goddess has always been just over my left sholder as muse lover and protecter.... I am Australian by an accident of fate. As my father arrived here from India to take up a position as a radio announcer way away back in the dream time of 1938. It was in Windsor a suburb of Melbourne in Victoria, where I drew my first breath in the merry month of August, making me very much a Leo. (Moon in Sagittarius with a rising sign in late Pisces on the cusp of Aries.) I was a careless child, careless in the manner of losing both my father and my mother at a very early age. (In fact I’d managed to lose five mothers before I was even five years old). I did re discover a mislaid stepmother later on. Servitude in a series of boarding schools came to an abrupt end when in my 15th year, I managed to escape and let myself loose upon the unsuspecting gentle folk of Melbourne. I studied art at the National Gallery School of Art where it was I also acquired the incurable disease of painting the female nude, something for which thankfully there is no known cure. I have been an exhibiting artist since 1962., and have works in various collections throughout Australia, Greece India and London . I paint, sculpt, I love philosophy, can write a fairly sound sonnet, my musical abilities run to playing a bit of piano (mostlt my own compositions,)and a quality Hi- fi system, also I love restoring string instruments, so far 7 violins 2 viola and a fine old Italian 17th cent.cello that had nearly been destroyed in a car smash).Being a Leo I love food & cooking for myself & my friends, I have been informed that I do cook a "wikid" curry.I aso have studied Massage( tactile & brazilian), meditation, Astrology & Tatot. When I was last in India I somehow had a large following in the art of reading palms, 'tho havn't practised that art in quite a while( too many people asking too much of my time and a need to devote more my time to my main love .. ...is painting painting and more painting.... I guess, at heart I’m a modern day Renaissance Man. For the last 11 years, (since 1995) I have been fortunate to have been running the now very popular and esteemed ‘Dan O’Connell Poetry sessions. My last book of poetry and drawings was recently published by Eaglemont Press, the first edition having now sold out. A second edition will be released in the near future.
