Oxido Republica… Rust Republic? I don't know... it's just a cool name.Oxido Republica was formed in 2003, by members of different garage bands including Efrain on lead guitar and vocals, Victor on rhythm guitar and two different bass players that later left the band , then Juan was added as the drummer , then Antonio on bass guitar. Since then the band has had some success in the underground scene in utah, the band then released a demo cd on September 2004 and have been interviewed by Red Mag and Slug Mag , the band has been working on new material and plan to grow in their musical style expanding it to different directions without forgetting their harsh sounding energetic musical roots called metal.
The influences that drive Oxido Republica are various, from movies, books and life itself, to bands like Megadeth, Nirvana, Sepultura, Deftones, mexican rock bands like Caifanes, Resorte and many others. Indeed all those influences may not appear to have a noticeable impact in their music style, they have influenced its members ideas and the way sometimes their music is performed.
At this time, they have a new drummer, his name is Mosiah Marin, he joined the band on Novemer 15th, 2006.
