I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

My friend Betsy once told me that the shape of my hands accurately reflects my aesthetic. The mildly horrific part about my life and my writing is that I'm discovering I don't feel that I have anything useful to say about myself. I finally have this fantastic grasp on my identity, and I really just don't have a thing to say! It's a hilarious nightmare of an artist statement.

My Interests

Sleeping, Reading, Damn Good Food, Performing, NPR, Punk, Knitting, The Switch House, Film, Theater, Mycology, Acupuncture Without the Fluff, Ninjas Against Bush, Live Shows, 21+ Shows, My Big Sister and my CUUUUUUTE Nephew, My Georgian Best Friend, My Italian Best Friend, sharing a brain with Amanda, my Psychic Pisces/Leo Rising Connection with my Big Brother, Coffee, Good Booze, Red Meat (the meat), Red Meat (the comic), And There's More! (More? Much More!)

I'd like to meet:

You. Maybe. If you deign to speak to me like a human being (i.e. send me a message before you "ADD" me) then I will at least do the same. One more time, for those of you in the cheap seats: if I don't know you from my waking life, message me before you add me, and don't bother at all if you're looking for a hook-up. You will be insta-denied. If I'm coming off as a bitch here, well, I am, but also I don't have the time or (clearly) the patience for those games. Cheers!

Music:

Tom Waits, Nick Cave, The Clash, The Mountain Goats. I'm so incredibly bad at these lists. Those were the first off the top of my head. Remember, Dragonforce is just Christian Metal with the word "Dragon" replacing the word "God".

Movies:

American Beauty, SLC Punk, LOTR, Shakespeare in Love, anything by Christopher Guest, Labyrinth, Henry V (Branagh), Wet Hot American Summer, Really Good Superhero Flicks. Did I mention that I hate lists of favorites?

Television:

Six Feet Under, Buffy, Dead Like Me, Babylon 5, Cartoons!, The Venture Brothers, Adult Swim. I don't watch much TV, sorry. It involves being home too much.

Books:

Shakespeare: The Invention of the Human, Skin: A Mortal Work of Art, Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, Hamlet's Dresser, Bee Season, Mucho Comics (Astro City, most of Alan Moore's work -- starting with Watchmen, Bone, Strangers in Paradise). To name a few. Also, and this is dramatic literature and not "Books" per se, innumberable playwrights.

Heroes:

Joan Laage of Dappin' Butoh, Hank Rollins, Jim Henson, My Cat, Shelley Jackson, Mary Zimmerman, Matthew Morris, Susan Lori Parks.
