In a time where everyone wants to pursue a music career, it's hard to tell who truly has talent. The Ace Team has that talent. And it's not just talent- there's also passion. Members of The Ace Team are Sydney or Lil’ Syd, Salvador or Young S, and Ray or Ray Gigs. They live in California and have been rapping and recording since they were freshmen in high school. Young S, (15) is the producer. He produces beats. On one song (Push It) he takes old flavor and adds his own ingredients to the mix. He raps, also. Lil’ Syd, (17) takes care of all the business and maintains their website. He talks to dj’s and promoters to get their music out. He’s usually the one who will respond to messages. He was born in Long Beach but raised in Boston. He presently lives with his father and has much support from him and whatever he decides to do in life. He began rapping in the projects. Lil’ Syd’s passion for music is so great that he wants to inspire others to follow him. “We love doing music; it’s my passion, my first love. I want to make it so I’m making sure WE all make it. We want this BAD and want to show other young people that anything is possible!” Ray Gigs (17), also produces. He was looking for a cd, but instead he found a Reason 3.0 cd Young S had given him. He downloaded the program onto his computer and was soon able to produce his own music. His mom was skeptical at first, but she decided to buy him a keyboard when she saw how serious he was about making music. He likes producing because it gives him an edge and is something different from what most people his age are doing. He would say Young S is his inspiration because he was the one who got him started. Ray Gigs thinks everyone who has something that is inspirational and motivational is an inspiration because everyone brings different things to the table. He has advice for anyone else who is trying to pursue a music career : " Don’t stress yourself out trying to be better than everyone else because you will crash and burn. Just have an open ear and take criticism because you will get a lot of it. Have fun doing what you love. Be creative and original. It’s cool to be weird these days because no one wants to hear what the other 5 people are giving them already.” I believe that no one could have said it better and I believe The Ace Team will have much success.
