About Me

Well, I was born in the booming metropolis of Eagle Pass, TX and raised in San Antonio. I've lived in Austin for the past 7 yrs and don't really plan to leave anytime soon. I've loved music for as long as I can remember, so I went to UT to major in R/T/F. Little did I know R/T/F at UT was really just for Film and not really music production. That lead to me to a production internship at Infinity and then a part-time promotions job at Emmis working mainly for 101X. From there I became the overnight news-anchor and moring show producer for Newsradio 590 KLBJ-AM and now I'm a reporter for them. So yeah, I wanted to get into music and I end up working for a right wing news and talk station. Not quite what I had envisioned, but hey it beats sales. I also now co-own a DJ company, www.austinmusictogo.com, so if you know anybody who needs a DJ for a wedding, party, anniversary etc... let me know. I have been with my girlfriend for over six years and we are finally getting married. Looking at an early Summer wedding. Anything else just ask.

My Interests

Let's see... I like spending time with my girlfriend whether its staying home and watching a movie or going out. Playing with my black Lab 85 lb. puppy, Elvis, hanging out with friends, going to shows and concerts, playing poker, thumb wrestling and playing hop scotch

I'd like to meet:

I've met these guys, but I would like to actually sit down and talk to them for a while: Tim Armstrong (Rancid) & Mike Herrera (MxPx) I would have also liked to have met Jesus, Joey Ramone, Johnny Cash and Elvis

Music:

Some of my favorite bands are MxPx, Rancid, Social Distortion, Dropkick Murphy's, NOFX, Bad Religion, Flogging Molly, Ramones, Clash, Transplants, Lars Fredricksen & the Bastards. I could keep going but you get the idea. At one point all I would listen to was punk or ska but now I listen to quite a bit of different stuff. I now like some country, rap, rock, latin, pop etc...

Movies:

Some of my favorites are American History X, Animal House, Basketball Diaries, Boondock Saints, and Forrest Gump.

Television:

I don't watch too many shows regularly but currently I watch Lost, Simpsons, UFC, poker shows and the O.C. (yeah shut up, you watch it too)

Books:

Umm, I plead the fifth... Well I pretty much graduated from college without ever having read a real book from front to back. Unfortunatley that is not an exaggeration, I was just always good at talking out of my ass and luckily have some inherent intelligence. I couldn't even bring myself to read all of Cliff Notes, I would skim them. That being said, I'm trying to be better. My girlfriend is an English teacher so she is kind of trying to get me to read more. I told her I will try to read stuff that has to do with music so we'll see how that goes...

Heroes:

I know its cheesy, but my mom is my hero. She worked her butt off to go from being a single mother of 2 on welfare to being an intl. sales manager and having a son who graduated from Harvard and one who graduated from UT. (I can still kick his Harvard ass)
