About Me

Time to Wake up Black People Lately my mind has been running a million miles per hour. For several years now I have looked at my community, the black community and have been disgusted by some of the things I have seen and the things I have let pass without saying a word. I try not to complain about a situation unless I can offer a solution. So for years I haven't did or said anything about the issues I have seen, waiting for the perfect opportunity to speak up. The problem with that is, there will never be a perfect time to stand up and go against the grain. So hear it goes.We came to this land in bondage and for centuries we were beaten, broken, stripped of our heritage, and taught to envy one another. Dispite of all of this we fought, stuck together and overcame or so we thought. What we didn't see was the rift created between the haves and have nots or the crabs in a barrel syndrome we developed. The white man may have placed stereotypes on us and instead of proving them wrong we played right into them.Enter the 21st. century where the broken family is the norm and it's common place to see a Cadillac Escalade on 24's parked in front of low income housing. We then step into the work place, where there is black leadership amongst the higher white society and they will not hire another black male for fear that individual would do something to tarnish his or her image amidst their peers.BLACK PEOPLE I HATE TO SAY IT BUT WE HAVE NOT ARRIVED.Black women are the best kept secret of our community and have held it down despite the invisible presence of our men. To the brothers out there I say to you " we's free now." No longer can we blame white men for all our problems. We give them much more credit for our success' and failures than they deserve. Our future lies within our kids. So you can't be an absentee father and expect to see a change.Life is not fair and it will never be totally equal that's a fact. We are hear to be each other's check and balances. My strengths should compensate for your weakness and vice verse. Plenty of our people have contributed to the evolution of our country and made it with out any handout's or affirmative action, tho if you get an opportunity by those means you make the best of it. You will only go as far as your eyes will allow you to see fit. So now it's time out for excuses. We place so much emphasis on superficial glamor to the point we have our youth believing the only way they can make it is by being a professional ball player or a gang banging rap artist. We like to blame the hip hop community for the things going on. Tell me tho who accepted Black Entertainment Television and it shows as representative of us, who tuned in to see Whitney and Bobby act a fool, who didn't catch and episode of Flavor of Love or I Love New York. Tell me tho did we set our family's down in the living room to watch Tavis Smiley deliever the State of the Black Union Address, tell me who's keeping up with the issuses of the Democratic Primary beyond the fact we have a black dude running for President in Barrack Obama. In this day and age we have the ability to thrive and not just survive. So why do we rush our kids to work and 16 instead of encouraging them to spend extra time preparing for colleges? Why do we not teach them the importance of credit , smart money tips and wealth building? Why do we say its alright to rock Fendi and Gucci and not have health or car insurance? We need to encourage our youth to be business owners instead of working nine to fives. White people may have put us in bondage but we chose to stay there. Real change happens in the mind. Not every black person operates this way and I am proud to see many young brothers taking a stand. So not to take away from any accomplishments of any of our people because we are survivors by nature and will continue to thrive on individual levels. My hope is that we can come together as a single unit and take responsiblities of our on actions. Realize that we perpetuate stereotypes about ourselves on a daily basis than any white person could ever do.Let's take care of Home MONTREAL WHITMOREWHAT'S GOOD PPL THIS YA BOI MONTREAL BRINGING SOMETHING NEW TO A LIL CHANGE FROM THE ORDINARY.
