About Me

This Is My Fucking Single/Body Heat

Add to My Profile | More Videos A singer/songwriter among many is a name you already know: Andrew Lee. Born and raised in Suffolk County on Long Island, NY, Andrew Lee decided at a young age (and still young!) that he wanted not only to sing, but write his own songs as well. "It's an awesome experience!" point out Lee, now nearing the youthful age of 15. "Singing a random lyric some big time producer jotted down in two seconds doesn't give the same feeling. If I want to sing, I'm gonna sing my own songs.".His history has a long and winding past. It was just one ordinary Sunday, Andrew thought nothing of it when he was singing to himself outside. Fate was on his side this fine day, as the manager of then-newly formed record label Zark Cherrie Records had signed him to a recording contract. And with that, Andrew began hard at work on what would become known as his debut- and best- album ever."The songs meant alot to me." Lee sounds off once again. "These were all from my experiences, but I knew others would be able to sympathize and connect to them. I knew they would be special, and not just anything you can find in your local record store." All his work paid off, and the best album of all time, Unwiggerly, was finished. "Unwiggerly, I thought, was a word that described me. At the time, there were alot of acts who seemed ashamed of themselves, and tried to use disguises to fool the public. But that never was or will be me. I'm not a wigger. Thus, Unwiggerly was born."A fine collection of ten songs, Andrew postponed the original due date to finish some work from school and life (he's even smart!). Once he found it time, Zark Cherrie Records released the video to his debut single, Jessica (She's A White Person). Amazingly, the single quickly rose to 1 wherever it was released, and Andrew soon garnered millions of fans at his fingertips. The album went on to get the not-so-common Diamond certification from the RIAA."I'd have never expected any of that." Andrew says in amazement. "When it started selling and getting all kinds of success. I thought I was dreaming. But I was also afraid, for I knew all good things must come to an end." And unfortunately for Andrew, that day did come. Subsequent singles from the debut failed to gain as much success, and his then-label pushed him in frustration to quickly churn out another album. "I wasn't ready. I was like 'Wait! Hold up!'. I needed time and they didn't wanna hand it over."As a result, his sophomore outing, Eww Wiggers! was a huge failure. In fact, music critics pan it as the worst failure in all of music. "I couldn't write songs with all that pressure." Andrew admits. "I just quickly recorded anything, and was like 'Okay, here you go! Release this!'. I knew this was all going to happen. They just pressured me too much." Not long after two much-hated singles were released, Andrew was dropped from the label."By now, all my fans had turned against me, and no one liked me." recalls Andrew. But it wasn't just that. The manager of Zark Cherrie Records was so furious by Andrew's failure and the company's loss of money, he locked Andrew in the attic and ran away with the little he had. "By the time I got myself out,..." Andrew recalls. "He was gone. Everything was. Every penny to my name. I had nothing to do."And not only that. While he was shoved in a dust-filled attic, his manager found his evil-twin brother, Enkidu, and told him to commit suicide. When everyobdy saw this, they just assumed it was Andrew himself. Of course, since everyone now hated him, they didn't care. "I had to live on the streets. I was worthless. That's when I said to myself 'Wait a second... I'm Andrew Lee. What the hell am I doing!?' I know it sounds corny, but that very sentence got me back to where I am today."Soon after saying said words, Andrew got hard at work. With the help of the few fans he had left, he recruited and formed his own label, Zapp That! Records, and began hard at work on his third album, and what would be his comeback, appropriately titled I'm Comin' Back. "It's the title." answers Andrew. "My comeback. Like Unwiggerly, I put my heart and soul into this. I was just hoping it would work, and that I could gain my status back."Indeed it did. The lead-off single, Like Your Titties, was another 1 for Andrew, and his millions of fans came crawling back. "I couldn't believe it." says Lee in suprise. "I wanted success, but I didn't know this much would come. It was amazing. I felt proud of myself. Like I was somebody special again. Now I realize, I AM Andrew Lee. As long as I live, I'll never let anyone try to take that away from me ever again."Now releasing his fifth effort, Shut The Hell Up, Woman!, Andrew Lee is pumped up and ready to promote. "The title has to do with what I said earlier. How I'm myself, and no one can take that away from me. If you want to complain, go somewhere else. I'm just here to sing and write." And with that, is a collection of ten brand new songs, all with the same amount of soul poured into them as on his debut. No regrets here. But when asked about past regrets, Andrew said little to none. "Sure, some people say I'll never be as good as on Unwiggerly. But what matters to me is how I think of myself. And I love me. And apparently, so do millions of people." Sure, there are dozens of singers and songwriters out there, but only one Andrew Lee.
