< ABOUT DTJ >
Def Talent Jam! Enough said. But incase there are anyone out there who may not know, DTJ is an annual talent competition born n bred at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, home of the Gators! What began in 1993 as a small 4-act competition at a little local diner on campus, has exploded into the BIGGEST annual Talent Competition/Concert/Party in the Southeast. People from all over the nation flock to DTJ to showcase their skills and capabilities. Entering it's 14th year, DTJ now features up to 10 performing acts that include dance troupes, singers, and musical performances.
This year we decided to change it up a bit. The theme is “DTJ XIV: Rewind”. There will be a series of decades, ranging from the 1940’s to the 1990’s, and each competing group will have the opportunity to select a specific decade that will be the focal point of their act. We have decided to allow each group more freedom with their performance in hopes of eliminating repetitive songs and dance moves. So be prepared and expect to see a variety of different routines!
DTJ XIVwill be held on the evening of Friday, November 10th, 2006 … so mark your calendars and keep checking in for more updates! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Liza Medina ( [email protected] ), Lordfer Lalicon ( [email protected] ), or Janel Buranday ( [email protected] ) for more information.
And of course as always Top 3 @ DTJ will receive cash prizes . Last year we set a precedent of making DTJ a MAJOR Talent showcase by upping the prize purse. This year we're continuing the trend...
3rd Place: $250
2nd Place: $500
1st Place: $1,500!

In addition, portions of the door proceeds will be donated to Ace-International , which is a charity program dedicated to helping troubled youths in the Phillipines...
