About Me

If only you`d be so kind as to have a look at the rest of the page, and I believe that there is no reason why it shouldn`t be clear that I`m a HUGE fan of both Ricky "Punter" and Rob Thomas. Both, whom have a massive impact on my everyday life. But not really.............. In FACT!!!!!!! Not at all... Actually, now I`m totally contradicting my sworn statements below, that, in all fairness, my comments will be null and void, and of no consequence. So, let me lay it straight, on the freaking line::::::: YES!!!!!!!! I`m a fan of both of them and my life would be that much more emptier without them....... But not really...... S`like ya.............. I think, that, should this paragraph not explain enough about me in a nutshell (more like nutcase), then I don`t know what will. Back to Sophiatown

My Interests

Wow this is so lame.... Where do I start ok, here goes: Music: the "food of love"... Or something like that... Bioscope: which goes so far as to ispire one self, and EVEN, in more dramatic circumstances, to make a person re evaluate his/her/its position in society, and ultimately: be a better person! Books: occasionally, though..... Cars and bikes: to admire and adore, especially ones which I wouldn`t buy even if I was a person with high stakes in Exxon Mobil. Sports: to participate in, or to watch.... Rockstar Games: for when you just need to let it out, man.

I'd like to meet:

Ricky Thomas "Punter" Ponting(oh wait, done it already), One Man Army(also met him, just once), Super Syed The Soccer Stud(funny thing is, I ALMOST met him once. But with him being a stud and all he broke my heart. He was a hundred yards away but did not care. He heard me shouting but merely walked away. He was too busy. My soccer star hero. My inspiration. Now he's gone and I know why. I drove him away.) Rob Thomas, RaNdOm creatures of the Human Race. Actually, I would like to meet some people such as Tarantino, simply because he is totally schizophrenic!!! And Martin Scorsese, because he features his mama in so many of his films, I think we can all take a pointer from him. And then¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬, I`d like to meet any of those absurd Italian-American mafioso lunatics, since they are my role models.... This will be explained if you read on...... OH YA!!!!!! I forgot to mention Rob Thomas.... Oh, sorry.. I did that already.,.,.,.,.,,,.,...,.,. Actually, here`s my final answer: I would most definately have liked to have met The Beatles, in their heyday, and to ask them, among other things, how on earth they managed to generate the overblown hype that did. Sirias!

Music:

All sorts of stuff but mainly Emo (me and Ronnie - both of us love the genre to bits) and punk and R&B and Hip Hop and Trance and last but certainly not LEAST, TECHNO¬¬!!! Oh wait, I forgot the NOT!!!!!!! Honestly though, I`m mainly into British rock/pop but not "pop" as in "queer/peculiar"... I.E. Radiokop and Muse and Mogwai and and and.... I enjoy the odd (not as in weird) local stuff... The likes of Pestroy, who are truly ground breaking and revolutionary in their own right, Fokofpolisiekar, who simply rule, and The Narrow, who are lekker, are among my bestest... I like to listen to heavy stuff when the mood changes, and I thoroughly enjoy Killswitch Engage, probably just as much as any fanatic! Metallica as well. Totally dig Master of Puppets! Its unnecessary to elaborate on how much I`m into RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE!!! TOTALLY!!! F*$%IN A!!! PMRC!!! Pink Floyd are one of my top, but before Waters started being a tyrant and a greedy selfish prick... The Beatles and Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, all cool! Radiokop, who are most probably(definately) my best of all time, so much so that OK Computer is for me an album of much validity and importance, and my life would be nothing without it. Well, it`b be emptier......................... Jeff Buckley, who was truly an extremely talented musician, probably one of the most important and influential of the past fifteen years or so. He is most probably directly responsible for some of the bands that we love (or love to hate). I think that Sigur Ros is a truly unique and very very talented band(Jonsi has THE most awesome vocal range), although it is not the most accessible music on earth. I.E. Not at all. But you have to appreciate such music. Ok, you dont HAVE to, but should. Then, Muse is the type of band whose music grows on you with every lisTen. I`m gradually starting to enjoy Wilco, as well as TMV. The Mars Volta might just be(again, definately) the best American band around today. And lastly, I admire Jean Michel Jarre for all the innovation and creation that his music represents. He is truly quite a remarkable musician and one of the pioneers of modern day muzak!!! Legend! On a final note, I am usually quite open minded to most music so long as it is really interesting, innovative, different, unique, awe-inspiring, fresh, different(oh, wait, said that already), influential and generally any thing that creates its own template within the mass market and makes you say: "Ah yes, thats The Shawshank Redemption, they`re innovative and they are indeed walking the path of uniqueness!" ETC... Ok Computer!

Movies:

Again, anything with techno pumping oets oets effects in the background.. AHHHHH, delirium........ I again forgot the NOT!!!!!!!! My best of the bioscope include films such as Lord of the Rings, The Godfather, The Deer Hunter, Shawshank Redemption, Dead Poet`s Society, Sin City(too cool), Into The Blue(which had sixty one academy award nominations- yes, 61!!!!!) - Just kidding... Although I suppose even Rocky XIII would be lekker with Jessica Alba,., Gladiator, Big Lebowski, The Pianist, Il Postino, American History X, Fight Club, Se7en, Man Bites Dog, The Usual Suspects, Dirty Harry, and any film by any of the following LEGENDS: Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Brian de Palma and even though his films are too depressing, Kubrick is still quite the man. And there`s more but I don`t feel like typing any ....... Fur.... Ther. The reason why I like and respect those mad mafia people is due to the fact that they fight for what they believe in, they spit in the face of authority and they are truly the epitome of style. But most important of all, they care for their families(familia) and will do anything and go to any extent to protect them, even though this consequently, and almost always, has a negative impact. I.E. Their families being torn apart due to stress and/or death.

Television:

Planet Earth, more Planet Earth, and mostly, Planet Earth. Simpsons, 70's Show, Dark Angel, back in the day, due to a very particularly fine female form, Spin City, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Ali G aka Borat aka Brunö, Mr Bean and Fawlty Towers. In fact, any British comedy and not forgetting that true epic American sitcom, Sorted. But ya, generally, I enjoy the funny stuff or stuff which teaches you a lesson.

Books:

All of the Greenside novels. In reality, books such as Ricky "Punter"`s biography, which are almost on the level of spiritual, but not quite.......... The Bible, The Book of Life. Yes, really... Also, Tolkien, who is my bestest best author of all time, followed by Mario Puzo, THE Godfather.... And I`m forgetting somebody... @:@:::@:@ Ah yeah, I like the style in which Dostoïeffsky writes as well as Tolstoi. Still reading their stuff, though I am quite liking it..

Heroes:

Firstly, David Attenborough. The afore mentioned Ricky Ponting. Although, I must not fail to mention that legend Rob Thomas who is a massive inspiration on my outlook on life. And if I had to be serious for a moment, I`d have to say doctors and all the people who save lives and make a small difference in the world. Small little differences which add up to huge solutions. Or, uh, something like that. And also famous people who aren`t sell outs and have enough integrity to overthrow a government. This obviously includes the afore mentioned Ricky "Punter" Ponting, a man who everybody on earth should look up to and admire. And also one Rob Thomas, who IS a sellout, but still supposedly cares..... Uh huh, yeah. Wait, forgot to mention my true heroes: Zacarias de la Rocha, a man who refused to bow down, Thom E. Yorke, who is my personal hero, Chris Martin, to an extent. Conclusion: many of the talented film makers and bands from all over the earth who are an inspiration on my every day of life. And legends.
