I am the person who should be teaching second grade, but whose life got sidetracked. I went to college for elementary education. Three months after graduation, my Gram died and I stepped in to care for Pa and run the household. I substitute taught for a long time, but after Pa died in 1999 I needed something more reliable. I was ready to go to North Carolina to try my luck in the schools down there when I met Joe. I don't regret not pursuing that opportunity at all, because now I have a great husband, a nice house and the most beautiful daughter in the world. I believe that all things happen (or don't happen) for a reason, and I would never second guess myself. And as for that (expensive) education? Well, education is NEVER wasted and every one of us is a teacher and a student every day!

My Interests

I am a scrapbooking freak. I need help! Actually, I need to have a room in my house dedicated to it, then I would be able to organize the chaos. :-)I also love to peruse old cemeteries and have a morbid curiosity about celebrity death. If you know me, you should already know this. Find A Death has started a message board, and it's AWESOME! I'm definitely learning a lot!

I'd like to spend time with my Gram who's been gone for ten years and Pa who's been gone for almost eight.I'd like to meet people in life who have goofy senses of humor, who you laugh with until your stomach hurts! I have had many in my life, believe me!!!

Sadly (or not) at this point in my life most of the music I listen to is not my own. Laurie Berkner, Dan Zanes and Friends, Hot Peas 'N Butter, the Doodlebops, Dirty Sock Funtime Band... and yes, I DO know all the words!!!

Movies:

Television:

Same as the music, most is not mine. Sesame Street, the Doodlebops, Jack's Big Music Show and most anything on Noggin. For me, Dead Famous... Ghostly Encounters, Days of Our Lives, Dirty Jobs, ER. I never watch them when they are actually on... thank God for the DVR!

Books:

I'll read anything you put in front of me. My all-time favorite book is "Gone With the Wind..." I read it for the first time in sixth grade and even owned a first-edition printing!

My heroes? Well, when I was little I wanted to be Wonder Woman. Oh... and I used to want to be Princess Leia, but had to be Chewbacca. Yeah, I still have a scar from that one. Ask anyone! ;-)
