You've managed to blunder into the incalculably stupid nook of the internet that I call my...space. Congradulations. Before you reward yourself with a cookie and perhaps some Yoohoo, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Jesse Frankel. To my friends, I am Jesse Fucking Frankel, and to a select few I am known as J-Frizzle. Since you're most likely going to be (if not already) deterred from ever speaking to me, however, you have my full permission to forget those titles. I suppose I have an affinity for music (in case you've managed to miss the list of bands located to the left) , as I believe music is the purest precipitant and precipitate of expression. I probably like bands that you either have never heard of or would dislike. I am also a musicianâ€”namely, a synthesist. I am rather surprised, and perhaps somewhat perturbed, by the number of individuals who discredit the synthesizer's status as a viable musical instrument. But here I shall not oppose them, for I have not the energy, nor do I deem it appropriate, to delve into the semantics behind their claims. I primarily work with classic subtractive analog synthesis, although recently I've delved into a wider spectrum of techniques, like FFT and granular synthesis .
Apart from my musical facets, I am heavily into philosophy, particularly epistemology and metaphysics, although ethics is interesting as well. I am also greatly interested in physics. I find that philosophy and physics function in much the same way, extracting patterns from that at-its-best nebulous concept of existence through which we haphazardly stumble. Psychology also intrigues me, although I haven't pursued it to the extent that I have pursued philosophy or physics. Combine psychology, music, and occasionally some physiology, and you arrive at another one of my central interests: psychoacoustics. I enjoy conversation, any conversation, because I enjoy people.
