With a remarkable voice that embodies a unique blend of youthful passion, timeless sophistication and soul, Bria is poised to make her mark in the world of pop music. Influenced by musical icons such as Mariah Carey and Stevie Wonder, she stretches beyond passing musical trends, enabling her to achieve crossover success by appealing to a wide variety of audiences.A native of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, Bria's musical talent was first recognized when she was 6 years old. With her family providing the necessary encouragement and support, Bria was soon performing at events, recitals, and contests along the East Coast. At age 9, the rising star won an audition to appear on the Al Albert's Showcase (WPVI TV, Philly) and created a sensation in the press. A local newspaper described her voice as "a rich, resonant adult sound that smoothly wraps around nuance, ascends and descends in pitch and totally belies her petite stature."At the age of 11, Bria won a spot as a finalist in Showtime at the Apollo's kids talent competition, singing Diane Reeves' "Better Days" and bringing down the house. The following year, she was invited to travel to LA to appear at the NAACP Image Awards, opening the show. With this exposure, Bria made the leap from an East Coast to national phenomenon.When Bria was 14, she signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records. Working closely with the founder of the label, Ahmet Ertegun, Bria began to record songs for her first album. After about a year, Bria and her team decided that it was in her best interest to part ways with Atlantic.
Over the next several years Bria continued developing, recording songs, and performing. She became very passionate about writing her own material and even learned how to play guitar to help with the creative process. Now at 19, Bria is stronger than ever and is ready to show the world what she's made of with her music.If her past is any indication, Bria and her loved ones better brace themselves for some interesting changes as her vision starts to materialize.
