Dark Light District are a 4 piece rock band based from Whitehead/Larne, Northern Ireland (UK). Formed in the Spring of 2005 with Connah Sutherland, Simon Porter and Ziqh Mayberry. Gavin Maxwell soon followed as drummer, following, "unsolvable musical conflicts"
Dark light District have always tried to focus on playing classic rock music, without forgetting to throw in the odd bit of funk.
The band members are between 18 and 26, and have always had a very strong interest in music, playing throughout high school and every other possible chance given.
The band have received airtime on several radio stations and internet radio stations, one of which being the cool fm 'home grown' competition, coming in the top 3 local NI bands, dropping out of the last round from a mobile phone text vote.
At this point in time, the band is focusing on writing their first album. So far however, the gigging that we have done has been a huge success, winning several bands competitions and gigging around the city! More than ever, Dark Light District can be seen playing gigs throughout Belfast usually.
