Some of my INTERESTS would be my faith. Playing/making/listening to/anything music. More music. Being redundant. Sleeping, Coffee (but not sleeping and coffee together). Dark beer/stouts/porters. The desert, the sun, and summertime (heat)... Although, a wise musician once said, "I couldn't enjoy this sunny day, if I didn't know what the rain was like". I am really into Art Nouveau, especially anything by Alfons Mucha. ............................................................ ............. Some of my "UN-INTERESTS"(?) would be not getting enough sleep. I'm definitely not interested in that. Mayonaisse.....ick, "Oldies" music, and the Beatles while I'm at it....(I know I'm gonna get lynched for saying that one). Snow (actual snow, not that rapper guy from way back. Come to think of it, I'm UN-interested in him, as well). Actually... I'm pretty much annoyed at all precipitation in every form (rain, fog, etc.) Throwing up... never a good time. Being late.
Anybody, really. But especially people with a unique sense of humor/who can find humor in it "all". Or if you have good taste in music and a passion for music in general...(especially music inspired by faith). "The music that really turns me on is either running toward God or away from God. Both recognize the pivot, that God is at the center of the jaunt." -Bono ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
I have a special place in my heart for "Sabbath-esque Stoner-rock" (minus the stoned part), Deep South "70's inspired" swamprock with a blues swagger, and "riff-heavy, sludgey Beer-metal". Bands like Seemless, Down, Corrosion of Conformity, Clutch, Pride and Glory, Alabama Thunderpussy, Black Label Society, Kyuss, Q.O.T.S.A., Abramis Brama, The Black Crowes (reminds me of my lovely lady), Mystick Krewe of Clearlight, The Bakerton Group, 5 Horse Johnson, Floodgate, Skynyrd, Sixty Watt Shaman, Spiritual Beggars, Sabbath, Sasquatch, The Sword, Raging Slab, Nebula, Orange Goblin, Crowbar, and ON and ON and ON!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The other "musical section" of my heart is currently reserved for the following bands: Seemless (yes, I've mentioned Seemless twice... they're that good!), Alice in Chains, Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, Led Zeppelin (the best rock band ever. If you don't agree, I'll fight you!), Pantera, Opeth, Living Sacrifice, Faith No More, Mr. Bungle (actually, almost every "Patton" project), Days of the New, Primus, Suicidal Tendencies, Lamb of God, GWAR, Melvins, Neurosis, Steel Panther (a.k.a. Metal Skool), Portishead, Dead Kennedys, Danny Elfman....I could actually go on forever.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My guilty pleasure is 80's music (INXS, Depeche Mode, Billy Idol, Oingo Boingo, Hall and Oates...you know, all "those" bands that you secretly rock out to when you're by yourself). I also dig a lot of reggae and jazz.
Borat could quite possibly be the funniest movie in existence. I LOVE concert DVD's. Some other cult classics are Billy Madison, The Blues Bros., Fantastic Planet, City of Lost Children, The Big Lebowski, The Passion of the Christ, just about ANY Jack Black flick (except for Shallow Hal), Fear and Loathing, FIRECRACKER, Super Troopers, Detroit Rock City, National Lampoon's Senior Trip, Airheads, I hate to LOVE "The Hills Have Eyes"... (but the second one is a steamy pile!)
Sometimes I wish I didn't have TV. This is because once ensnared, I am powerless to turn it off. Or even blink for that matter. It makes me watch it. I am...weak. I blame these shows for that: The Venture Bros., That 70's Show, Most programming on VH1 Classic, Headbanger's Ball (when it isn't being gay), King of Queens, Anything with Brian Posehn in it, MXC, The State (remember that MTV show?), speaking of... how about those 90's MTV commercials with "Jimmy the Cab Driver"? You 'member...
The Bible, "Paul, A Man of Grace and Grit", "The Quotable Lewis", HM Magazine, Revolver Mag, Max Lucado stuff, uuummmmmm......I guess I should read more, huh????
Jesus Christ (My Lord, Savior, and purpose), C.S. Lewis, Paul the Apostle "The Chief of Sinners", anyone who holds firm to their faith and convictions...even to the point of death. As far as influential drummers: Sean Kinney, Jimmy Bower, Matt Cameron, Reed Mullin, Lance Garvin, Danny Heifetz, Mike Bordin, John Bonham, Vinnie Paul Abbott, Derek Kerswill, J.P. Gaster, Terry Bozzio, Danny Carey, Tim "Herb" Alexander, Josh Freese, Dustin Perle, and Christmas Colazzo.
