About Me

Origins

Born in Bournemouth on the south coast of the UK but came to London to go to university. I have an interest in photography, skiing (especially in Jungfrau in Switzerland) and used to do a bit of diving. However got tired of swimming in cold pea soup (about as good as the waters of the coast of the UK get). Enjoy cycling and walking and do that a lot around London. Often the fastest way to travel.

The slides below show results from a trip to Hawaii Island. Also gives an indication of a long time hobby of mine - to wonder around with a camera. Outside here I also have a Travel Blog with information on the places I have been to.

Think that nature is fantastic and have always had an interest in the natural world, how things work and the beauty of different creatures. Failed to become a vet and started off my adult life in a virus lab . And having spent enough years looking for the little blighters in blood and all sorts of other bodily fluids I am now trying to move on to something different.

Moving on to Photography

So out go the viruses and in comes photography and travel. Now create panoramic photographs of various destinations around the world. Have subsequently had fun covering not only London , where I live, but also Rome and the Vatican.

Personal Beliefs

Am a Christian and attend City Gates - a free church based in Soho – the red light district of London. I have been here for 20 years. We have done some work with the homeless over time, and also on the estate I live on. I am currently helping to run a youth centre in my (little) spare time.

How do you view the world? Everyone has to believe in something, even if it is a belief in nothing - it is still a belief!

Where I have Been in the World You can see where I have been on TravBuddy Profile and Check me out on WAYN . I would add a map of my travels, but MySpace will not allow the use if <[iframe>]s, so unless that changes, which I doubt :( , you will have to go to the TravBuddy account to see.

My Interests

This could become a simple list. See About Me section for some. Always willing to try something new at least once providing the survival rate is well in my favour! Would love to do a parachute jump but would need to be pushed out of the plane...

Always up for a good discussion and to find out what makes other people tick.

I'd like to meet:

Friends from around the world!
You are now marked on my profile visitor map!

Music:

That really depends on my mood. Enjoy classical, Coldplay, Caedemons Call, Chris Rice, World Music and then some of the all time 70's and 80's hits stuff.

Movies:

Lord of the Rings, almost anything SciFi - well got to see the initial release of Star Wars in the cinema FIRST time round! Can cope with most things, but not into horror. Have a data prjector to turn lounge wall into a cinema, which is a great way to spend a night with friends.

Television:

Sucker for natural history programmes like anything by David Attenborough. Also enjoy current affairs progs and science progs. Not a fan of soap operas, so count me out if it is Eastenders or the like. Really enjoyed 'The West Wing' and am waiting to get my hands on season 7!

Books:

Ongoing reading of Bible. Stuff by Azimov and Terry Pratchet has been known to adsorb (too much?) of my time. Recently read 'Short History of Almost Everything' and 'A Brief History of Time'.
