Groove Europe: , BlubaLu:

A musical travel notebook to 12 amazing European places! : : :

:

Groove Europe: (coming out in AUGUST 2008) is a whole new feel of the Old Continent in musical terms. The keynote being the artists’ first-most impressions, mixed with pre-existing notions and new cultural grasps for various European places. :

:

Groove Europe: is BlubaLu’s 5 th released album since their formation in the early/mid 90”s.:

It is a fine mixture of New Jazz, Downtempo, and Dub, a similar mood to Mishaps Happening by Quantic and Confusion by Scalpel. : :

:

Sofia, Amsterdam, Florence, Monaco: : urban, dynamic, energizing sound, just like the cities that have inspired it.

:

The album gives you a new look, a fresh promise for places and people becoming ever closer to you, a new extended family, welcoming and eager to take you out in town. It’s like finding the local’s place round the corner of a major city landmark. :

:

It is the ultimate experience for the open-minded traveler: to seek the all-familiar, the must-see and the well-hidden cultural treasures.:

:

BlubaLu: has long established itself as one of Eastern Europe’s finest and most creative band formations. For those familiar with their work, it will be a pleasure to spot some traces back to : World Melancholy (list others).:

:

Groove Europe : also feature’s Bulgaria’s great composer and jazz pianist – Antoni Donchev.:

:

BlubaLu: : Dimiyr Paskalev - guitars, Konstantin Kacarski – percussions and key, Stefan Vladimirov – sax and brass; : :

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bluba Lu (Dimityr Paskalev and Konstantin Katsarski) has been one of the most innovative and prolific BG music formations of the new millennium. Pioneers in the BG ‘underground movement’ and “guilty” of feeding life to contemporary Bulgarian music, they have released four albums since 2001: “Bluba Lu in Wonderland” 2001, “MOOGaMOOD” 2002, “Re:Verb” 2004, and the latest – “World Melancholy” 2007.
Bluba Lu has also collaborated with LTJ Bukem and produced a couple of singles for “Earth” (Vol. 7), a compilation CD released by Good Looking Records.
Cautious of solidifying a style, Bluba Lu successfully interweaves trip hop, nu jazz, rock & blues, chill out or ambient motives. Exploring the various wild or trotted trails of creativity, they find themselves on a similar path with bands such as: “WARP,” “4AD,” “Ninja Tune,” and “Sonar Kollektiv.” With each unique project, the band has found a large, devoted audience that finds each concert as cathartically and unforgettably ravishing.
The last album, World Melancholy: featuring guest singer Androniia Popova (Roni) has been a true challenge for the band and a very special treat for the fans. Composed for a forty-member symphonic orchestra, a band, plus a vocalist, it became the major music event of the year. And sales prove it: sold out of tickets days before any concert – a fact only but a few young Bulgarian musicians can boast about.Dossiu Amudjiev“Groovy Sessions”, Radio Nova, Bulgaria

ANDRONIA POPOVA is probably the most exciting voice of Bulgarian underground stage. Deep sensitivity and enchanting presence characterize her aura. The lyrics of Roni resembles classical sentences or short poems haiko. Her vocal performances are strongly emotional and introverted.
Despite the demanding schooling of opera singing, Roni has developed a unique style of her own. In the spring of 2005 she started work on a new collaboration with BlubaLu - “World Melancholy.”
She has been part of the electroacoustic projects “Nasekomix” and “Monday Morning,” which have performed at festivals such as “Color of Music,” Padova, Italy, 2001, Berlin, Germany, 2002, Lille, France, 2003; Cadiz, Spain, 2004; Festival of Electronic Music, Sofia, Bulgaria, Ambient Festival. She has composed the score to the documentary by Zornitsa Sofia “Death and All the Way Back,” and for the play “White Nights” by director Marii Rossen. Together with Dessi (Phuture Shok) they have recorded for Donna Dee, DJ ILS.
