My name is Jonathon McNair and I am from San Francisco, CA. I am 19 years old and loving every minute of it. I enjoy Track & Field and have been running the 400m for the past 4 years. Although track is the best thing since Chicken noodle soup, my heart has always been in Art. Being a kid growing up playing with legos was the start. Then came across the idea of becoming an architect. I was stuck on architecture for years went through a number of classes but loss interest when learning HTML and how computers operate. I drifted into the computer world for a minute then into what I thought was Graphic Media Designs, at the time I was only using your standard Windows Paint. Further down the line looking up to my Auntie who had pursued a career in Website development and Graphic Media Arts, I saw the things she was doing and I wanted to do the same also. I upgraded my programs, start using Photoshop and practically taught myself how to manipulate it. About 4 months into the program I knew what I was doing. But my haunting past came back from under the covers and I had to spend a little time from "the outs" thats what we call it. After about three months I returned to my home looking for something to stay away from trouble, hoping to make a turn in my life. I start messing with Photoshop again just playing around with my own pictures, and started making and selling art. One day out of nowhere a club promoter came to me and complimented my work and asked if I made promotional fliers or anything. I told him I'd try and go started quickly. I had 5 days to complete and used four; he liked what I had created. He told me that If the club manager liked it, they'd buy it and keep me in mind for another job. Unfortunately the manager didnt like it. But that didnt stop me. I thought wow, that was easy, All I have to do is make something thats appealing to a promoter or manager and they'll buy it. The Start of JMB Pictures:
The start of JMB Pictures clicked quickly in my head a couple of jobs down the line. I had finnally found something I like to do and its legal. I was very ambitious after this moment and was eager for any type of work. I made a my first website for JMB, then a second. After this I promoted myself to thousands of MySpace users. From models, artists, rappers, vocalists, dancers, party promoters and club owners I sent my offer to. Shortly after this I start bringing in an up and down income, I didnt want that, I wanted a steady income, one with loyal customers and networkers.
