About Me

I like to watch, read, and listen to people.

I love writing. Poetry is really cool. Short stories are fun. I usually post stuff here .

I am a freelance editor. I have a decade of full-time professional editing experience with a large Kansas City publishing house. I have references, and I do all styles. If you're interested in my services, message me; we can work something out.

You need to check out OPUS on the first Sunday of the month at The Writer's Place , and then come see The Main Street Rag's 3rd Sundays series.

Oh, and do you like to bite?

My Interests

Music, writing, photography, history, philosophy, all science...yeah I never could focus my energy on anything but understanding the current idea and laying it out for others. Except those eyes...

Music:

Sarah McLachlan, Snow Patrol, Blue October, Evanescence, Dashboard Confessional, Nirvana, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, and on..and on... I'm a music whore. I'll give anyone a listen, and music is what moves me. My life is soundtracked.

Movies:

Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, Rob Roy, Clerks (and any Kevin Smith), Howl's Moving Castle, Once, Young Frankenstein. And about 500 others.

Television:

I can't stand reality TV.
I miss Dark Angel, Ed, Joan of Arcadia, and Firefly.
I currently keep tabs on Heroes, The Office, My Name Is Earl, the new Terminator series, Psych, Moonlight, and Chuck. (I work part-time in the Nerd Herd at the Buy More for fun.)
Apparently I have a thing for detectives, shmucks, mutants, and combinations thereof. But really, the best show on TV right now is Corner Gas (currently playing on WGN). Canada rocks!

Books:

Blank Slate: The Modern Denial of Human Nature. The Highly Sensitive Person. The Creepy Castle. I like the writings of Rilke, Poe, Crane, Heinrich, George, Waterhouse, The Asburys, Pavey, Ryberg, and a host of others.

Heroes:

My hero is Zed .

Stone Man

The old stone man sits upright, in the recliner; I don't point out the paradox. This vet'ran statue has seen enough of inconsistency. There's no mining of tales from his past-- he'd sooner implode up...
