Paolo Maldini is known as one of the greatest left-defender in the world-and even the best left back of all the time.the great defender played all his career in AC Milan, and his first game in Serie A was on January 20, 1985 against Udinese.
Maldini started his career as a left back and then changed his position as a centre back.
Maldini currently the club's most capped player at 582 caps after having outlasted the great defender also-Franco Baresi's record with 512 caps.
Maldini won with Milan 7 championship,4 european championsleague cup, 4 european super cup,2 world cup club.
Paolo also won World soccer's of the year in 1994.
Paolo scored 30 goals in Milan until now : 23 goals in Serie A and 7 goals in European tournament.Paolo started to play in Italia national team U-21 in 1986 until 1988. He joined to the mature team in Euro 88 and retired after the world cup 2002.
Paolo never won a trophy with the national team, despite playing in 1994 world cup final against Brazil and the Euro 2000 final against France.
Paolo retired with 126 caps and 7 goals. His first goal in
the national team was in friendly game againat Mexico in 1993 and last one against Wales in Euro 2000 qual.
